a lot of artists think that the invention of slop is going to be really bad for artists, but i think that it's ultimately a good thing, because now real art is a premium good, which raises the value of human-made art.

sure, the industry jobs might get stolen, but it's not like working for a corporation was ever a good deal anyway. we'll just go back to having artists funded by patrons like in the renaissance.

there's also nothing stopping new artists from learning to draw the correct way, or old artists from continuing to draw.

Real art is only a premium good if the average schmuck on the street can tell the difference between real art and slop. That's a tall ask.

~90k-200k+ a year with benefits and job progression is a very good deal

$90 to $200K for a job where your employers overwork you for art you don't legally own and have no loyalty to you and will replace you with overseas sweatshop studios or robots at the first chance they can.

versus, owning your own art and living off of patreon subs and commissioners who want to see you succeed.

How many artists working for corpos had the top 1% to top 0.0001% salary though

Welcome to the real world, at least we get to draw superheroes and space marines. You do that shit for a few years and then you bail like my tech friends plan to do and then go indie or freelance or even both.
