Anon I need help, please tell me what acrylic paint to buy. I'm poor and cannot afford anything fancy, plus I'm still a noob at painting. Right now I'm looking at one of these 24 packs of Liquitex, but it's $42. I don't really know how much I should be looking to spend on paint or what a reasonable price is, or if there's a meta for finding cheap affordable paints. I thought artists were poor, but somehow they all have these really expensive paints! How can I achieve this?

Also why don't we have a general thread or sticky for general art supply suggestions.

>why don't we have a general thread
We do, it's just seasonal for the most part since there aren't a lot of people coming into trad and there's not much to talk about most times.

Golden
>I'm poor and cannot afford
Acrylics are shit in general and they're double shit because of mini painters, anything remotely "good" (acrylics aren't good) is going to be on the pricey side

Also, you don't need 24 fucking tubes, buy a normal palette

Artists (trad) are poor because they spend all their money on art supplies.
In europe we have Pebeo which is a good cheap alternative to other acrylics and there's also Maimeri which has affordable ones, you can check if in your country they cost about the same or lower.

I'm doing watercolor and looking for synthetic brushes to take the stress of my sable brushes. I got a Da Vinci Colineo but I'm not feeling it, it dumps water and isn't receptive to shaking water out, is an Escoda Versatil better in that regard? Or is there some kind of brush that has a steady water release and can be shaken out that doesn't cost 150+ dystopiacredits?
I like goat hair for washes, but I need something firmer for the actual painting
