One of the best drawing books ive ever used. Did it filter you?
>>7966745Stop making your mother cry.
>>7966747what? im genuinely recommending it
>>7966745I did the exercises, but they didn't help me in any meaningful way. My experiences were also nearly always the opposite of what the author suggested they should be like: the things she said should be difficult and unnatural were intuitive, and the things that were supposed to be "surprisingly easy" were extremely difficult and gave me terrible results.Nothing helped me as a beginner until I came across some resources that went over various techniques for quickly sketching something, rather than focusing on accuracy or form-based construction.
>>7966882what resources???? link them pls
>>7966896Sorry, I believe it’d be just a distraction for you. It worked for me though. Just draw, anon.
>>7966903Don't be a fucking nigger just post the fucking links

>>7966745>Did it filter youYou can narrow down the entire book is "stop drawing like you did as a child", and that's it. It's not bad, I'd say it's worth a read for that advice alone, as the whole "symbol drawing" awareness thing is surprisingly rare to hear even from masters. It should be the first book anyone who's actually serious about wanting to draw good should read, but it gets gassed up a lot and some act like it's a silver bullet, when it's not even a book about drawing; it's about pseudoscience.
>>7966745I think all beginners should start with DRSB and Cognitive Drawing, and get into the habit of meaningful tracing (plus breaking down references into shapes) and blind contours as part of the drawing process.
>>7966980I think you are larping.
>>7966903pls anon don't do this to me
