Fundamentals aside, can trying to fix your own tastes alongside consuming more good media in general help you significantly if you're plagued with an unappealing art style/generally ugly drawings? Especially if your core fundamentals are somewhat decent
>>7967562That would be nice, right? Same theory as read more to write better. Or immersion with native materials for language learning. Basically justifying being lazy and doing low-effort stuff. Imho, that may work with really young people. But for adults, that kind of subconscious learning is just not there any more. Again, believe what you want. And people really want to believe the easy approach is better.
you write like a retardwhat do you even expect to get out of these threads?

I think so because the reverse is true. You can always tell who's a disgusting furry, because even their non-furry art has that specific cartoon style. It's like how gays all have the same accent.
>>7967562You know the phrases "you are what you eat" and "you are the company you keep"? Works the same way with art. Take in good art, you'll produce good art.Lots of "unappealing art" exists because people don't take the time to copy art of a higher quality: mainly out of insecurity/envy/fear of failure.
>>7967562Don't force yourself. If you weren't doing that before then it's not gonna change anything.
>>7967562I don't think fixing the taste of whoever uses the words 'consuming' and 'media' unironically is within the realms of possibility.

>>7968468Enjoying and art
>>7968471what a romantic I like you already. After all what 20th century had to offer, and such little from 21st... using the words you proposed cannot be considered other thing than barbarism, if you excuse the paraphrase.Look around , there is no art in here , for the moment it leaves the creators' mind it becomes product to consume
>>7968665nah if a drawing has love and artistic execution its art, show evidence that the OP doesnt have that or you automatically concede that its not just a product
>>7967562how the fuck do you even color like this? What is the true color of her skin, or her clothes, or anything? I just paint bucket fill and then I'm lost on step 2 because if I'm drawing something new with an arbitrary light source then I dont have a reference for where the shadows would be and I can't just simulate the drawing in 3d to find out. Then they have literally millions of colors blended between the shadow and the light and that takes HOURS or careful feathering with the blur tool or a soft round brush. Nobody has time for that.

>>7969086Comparing yourself to Sadamoto Yoshiyuki is not a good idea, anon.
>>7967562There are too many people with great taste in comics, games, novels, and music but are mediocre or outright shit artists, game devs, writers, and musicians for it to be that straightforward. A good palate is a must, yes, but good taste alone isn't something you can infuse into your craft by just consuming stuff made by superior artists.
