HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DRAW THIS AS ACCURATELY AS POSSIBLE HELP
HELP
your forgetting most shadows. you dont compare angles enough. youre not aware of the negative and whitespace as form, further helping you measure. doing it right takes time. when it clicks it will click and everytime will be exhausting and requires your attention

>>8050604>HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DRAW THIS AS ACCURATELY AS POSSIBLE HELPUsing any basic measurement or grid system.
>>8050620Blog?
>>8050604just overlay the drawing on top of the photo to see what is off
>>8050628BUT THEN I MAKE MISTAKES IN THE NEXT DRAWING ITS NEVER CLOSE ENOUGH ITS ALWAYS OFF
>>8050640fix what was wrong dummy
>>8050642I DO BUT WHEN I MOVE ON TO THE NEXT ONE ITS OFF
>>8050627I don't have a blog, I just post random shit in this board. As to not be a total jerk I just did a quick drawing on picrel to show other grid method as portrayed in this movie:> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8w0n7cSSE0> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mO-etgjE1es
>>8050643focus on what was wrong, keep that in mind and try to get it right the next time. you're lucky if it's 1% better each cycle. just trust the process. stop whining so much and draw way more.
>>8050627Peril's blog is on 4chan, he has a general on Oekaki>>8050604>>8050640You shouldn't worry about being 100% accurate, strive for 80-90% accuracy. What you're doing now isn't bad, I like the angles you've drawn for the clavicles, torso, hips and knees, and your proportions for the first drawing is good. You can practice accuracy by any number of methods. You can trace the image, then redraw without tracing, overlay to see your mistakes and repeat the process until you're satisfied. You can use a grid method, measure lines and proportions of the body parts compared to each otherYou can block in shapes, use negative space to see the proportions measured ect>>8050643It's not a one and done deal. This is something that takes years to get good at.
>>8050646YOU FOOL, MOVE THE FRAME DOWN! DOWN!
>>8050648>strive for 80-90% accuracy. But I need close to 100% before I can draw what I want though but I cant even reach 60% IM NGMI
>8050662timewasting attentionwhore
>>8050670bodied that freak
>>8050648when i overlay it, am I supposed to hide the reference, then fix it, or fix it while the reference is underneath?
>>8050643yeahof course.then fix that one. and so on, etc.>>8050620funny, never thought of using an actual ruler. im an old school pencil/brush guy.>>8050627this is why barg has the little cross hair in his study drawings. its indicating techniques.>>8050604just start getting into tone and highlight and shadow, youll get there
>>8050684screw over layslearn to use your eyes
>>8050694I tried that but if I don't overlay, how am I supposed to know whats off if my eyes aren't good enough yet for a basic lay-in?
Screw your eyes. Scoop them out with a spoon. That's when you unlock your mind's eye and level up from beg.
>>8050701its pretty obvious from how you draw hips that youre drawing what you expect to see rather than whats actually there
>>8050648You should follow your own advice because this is like 60% accurate at most. The proportions are horrid.
>>8050701you need to train your eye, thats the why to do it. practice practice.>>8050709this is always a good thing to be aware of - to make sure you are really looking.the point of a "basic lay in" is to work and refne ityou can try being more of a 'render dude' and get a super light pencil, doof around with the layin then hit it dark like they do.
>>8050709how are hips supposed to be drawn?
>upload>see mistakeswhy is it like this??
>>8050715but how do I know if my eye is getting better?
>>8050724I noticed something was off so i changed it, is my eye being trained?
>>8050650That's easy to fix my good friend, allow me..>>8050648>Peril's blog is on 4chan, he has a general on OekakiTHANKS FIGURE ANON!!! That was solid advice actually. I really believe that too, just go for it and let your skill naturally achieve accuracy naturally. You can't force that by artificial means, it has to be a "biological adaptation" to a constant habit.About my thread on /i/, it reached the image and reply limit and got archived a couple months ago. There's a site (archived.moe), that I believe it keeps /i/ threads archived (warosu doesn't keep /i/ archives). I didn't check that, but in case anon >>8050627 wants to check it on archived.moe the /i/ thread number was 824791.>>8050692>funny, never thought of using an actual ruler. im an old school pencil/brush guy.Well, in that drawing the artist is holding a pencil with marks as in a ruler, but the idea is the same, yes.>>8050716I think you did a perfectly fine and beautiful figure sketch here >>8050701 . Opinions are extremely subjective in this board lol
>>8050726dont be a smarty pants
>>8050709Looks accurate to me
>>8050713His is just referencing the pose. You will notice that the /int/s on /beg/ only loosely follow the reference. That's when I started to stop worrying about accuracy. But maybe that's the dark side of art, wanting quick results.>>8050604My attempt, didn't yet overlay. Will draw the other refs you used tonight. Your attempts seem pretty accurate to me, but maybe my standards are too low, maybe I have grown to comfortable... old concept art /ic/ would laugh at every thread we currently have
>>8050739Now as I post it I see some errors... from observer's side right boob needs to be repositioned and resized and also the right leg, that is thinner than the other... which would require the hips to be wider. Middle torso slightly squished. Hm.
>>8050739>Will draw the other refs you used tonight.good luck>>8050727thanks
