Sorry to ask a weird question, but what are natural ways of saying 毒を盛る in English?毒を盛る means to put poison in someone's drink or food secretly, especially with malicious or murderous intent. Its synonym is 毒を入れる, but this phrase sounds like the act of adding poison to someone's drink or food no matter whether it's intentional or not.
>>196467955Usually you would say "to poison something", but there are also less common alternatives like "to lace something with poison"
>>196467955i think you're looking forto slip sb. sth. [e.g. a drug in a spiked drink]
What's the differences between DJT and Japanese Thread
>>196467955"poison the food" is the most direct way to say it. There is "envenom" which is literary. "stain" and "taint" has more generic meaning more than poisoning.>>196468601DJT for people learning Japanese.Japanese thread has more Japanese people.

>>196468776"Envenom" is a word for when a snake or a spider bites someone, it's not literary. "Venom" is not proper to use with ingested poison and some people will be autistic about this."Poison" is something you eat or drink. "Venom" is something that another organism puts into you as a weapon. "Toxin" is something that kills by direct contact. So in strict English 毒蛇 is a venomous snake, not a poisonous snake, because you don't eat the snake on purpose and then die. There are toxic frogs that can kill or injure by touching their skin. Also poisonous frogs or insects that contain chemicals that kill or hurt you if you eat them.Casually "poison" is okay to use for all of them but using "venom" generally is strange
>>196475229Thanks for the correction! That reminds me there is no distinction in Chinese 毒 for the three cases, and probably Japanese too. Maybe that's why I am not sensitive to the nuances in English.

What does it say bros?5話配信の連絡がなかなかいただけず、ご報告出来ずに申し訳ありません。

Why is "Ten-go" (short from Ten-ichi-go) translated "Heaven One" instead of "Heaven number"? The "ichi", which is "one", is missing in the shortened version.I have no idea about this language so please spoonfeed me.

not even a single interesting question
>>196485990This si a book about Mishima, not one of his works, no?
>>196486613At least a few of them are written by Mishima himself
>>196486613I don't think Mishima's work is available for free for the time being. He died in 1970, so the copyright will be be protected until 2040 or something. If my memory is correct, it was supposed to be free by 2020, but it was postponed due to TPP's 70 years copyright agreement.
>>196486365have you asked an interesting question yourself?
>>196487441I could not find any, but I am retarded. Thank you for having helped anyway anon.>>196488264Hm, so which famous Japanese authros works will be freely available.
I still remember internet ppl became enraged when this was announced in 2018.
>>196488371I think works made by author died before 2017 - 50 = 1967 are freely available, which excludes authors like, Mishima, Kawabata, Shiga, Mushanokoji, etc, whose work may have been in public domain by now.I believe available ones are pretty much covered in aozora-bunko, so you can choose one from there.Popular ones are:Dazai Popular ranking in aozora-bunko:https://www.aozora.gr.jp/access_ranking/2018_txt.html
May be starting from Dazai, Akutagawa or Soseki will be easy. They are still popular amongst high school to college student.

Say someone asks you how long you'll be somewhere. If I said 10にち, does that actually mean 10 days or would they think I said till the 10th? Is 10ひ the right way to say 10 days?

Of course, I have close to 0 experience from speaking to Japanese people outside of here aha, ahahaha...ひ is not at all a counter for days, it is used for measuring hours of a day though.

Friday and dead as always.リア充めAre there any decent Line groups or something where I could practice talking with people without genuinely just bothering them?Especially for the Golden Week. Otherwise I'd just use the time to try the local climbing hall.

>>196516610パンを焼く can be taken two ways as "toast some bread" and "bake some bread," so you usually need to judge which meaning it refers to from context. However, if you said パン焼き器, many people would imagine it as a bread making machine instead of a toaster.
