I redrew the borders of your States:
>Alaska and Hawaii are no longer States, but territories
>The Small States of New England merge, except Northern Maine
>New Jersey disappeared as it is too small and too dependant of New York and Philadelphia
>Delmarva is created
>Appalachia is created centered on West Virginia
>West Florida is created
>The Dakotas merge because they are inhabited and irrelevant, so together it will be better for them
>Kansas City and its surrounding cities integrate the State of Kansas
>A New Texas corresponding to what Texas gained is created. Texas is too big, it needs to split. I hesitated to created a Rio Grande State instead of a New Texas State.
>The territory corresponding to the Gasdsen purchase is now a State
>Washington State is renamed Colombia because it's better for the identity than having a State named according to someone
>The proposed State of Jefferson is created and again it is named Shasta it's better for the identity than having a State named according to someone
