>>214900704This week I've done the following with my two friends that I've known since the 90's. >went out drinking and fishing>went to the local indoor pool >watched a bunch of shitty pirated movies at my place >played vidya and talked over discord most nights >drove a couple hours and bought a used car for one of them, proceeded blow the turbo up on the way home and then spent 10+ hours in the garage fixing it (also while drinking) And some other stuff. And there's no obligation. Don't feel like doing shit, just say no. Friends don't care, not real friends anyway.

>>214900704well it depends. most friendships are just to entertain each other and not get bored. very rare few friendships are around shared interests, supporting each other's growth and improvement and genuinely willing to self-sacrifice for the other, but the way modern low trust atomized societies are set up this kind of friendship is really rare. i dropped most of my friendships because we were all just chilling without any purpose all the time, just making each other comfortable with stagnation in every field of life, this isnt true friendship.
Every meeting up feels like a chore. Don't hate people at all, but never crave contact irl.
