>>220568298it's crazy to think that clay tablets will still be around long after all our books and digital data has been completely eroted from time.
>>220569948you can get m-disks and an mdisk writer for fairly cheap and burn your digital data on those. i think if you put them in a safe or anything where theyre shielded from the elements they would easily last longer than clay tablets.
>>220570184t. heir to an "m-disc" company
>>220570239idk who the heir is but just as we can look at 5000 yearold spreadsheets people in 5000 years will look at our spreadsheets (or in 4chan's case an SQL table of posts)
>>220570184>i think if you put them in a safe or anything where theyre shielded from the elements they would easily last longer than clay tablets.data hoarder fags say this and forget having those optical drivers still intact and the power and hardware needed after an economic collapse or worse a nuclear holocaust will be quite the feat
>>220568298How do Jews feel about Mesopotamia? On the one hand, wouldn't they be ancient enemies? Or maybe you have a genuine interest in them like English people do about the Vikings. etc.>>220570184Seconding M-Discs for longterm storage.

>>220571953you can overcome this but you'd have to design a computer explicitly for this purpose. for example the firmware chips in laptops/motherboards would get wiped after hundreds of years so you'd have to make a motherboard that loads the entire firmware from m-disks (like the bios/UEFI,boot menu... ) there's also other components that idk how long they'd last like LCD/LED screens, but it feels to me that programmable memory is the first think that degrades (other batteries)

>>220568298Do you guys still remember the schizo seething every week over the quality of his bought copper?
>>220572013like any other region it changes from friend to neutral to enemy to friend every couple of years history is cyclical. we used to be bffs with egypt and serve as merceneries protecting them from nubian raids now if i went to egypt they'd try to scam and rob me and im sure in a century or two the cycle will repeat and we'd be friends and then enemies again and so on
