If every computer device on earth suddenly melted into dust at once, would you be happier or sadder? (Ignoring the economic collapse)

I would definitely become a lot more optimistic about the future, but thats just me, an animation student

>Ignoring the economic collapse
how do you ignore this?
>>
>>222592328
By being poor and brown and having a family who did many things like build a cistern and have large stockpiles of rice out of instict
>>
I don't think mich mexican bureocracy is yet dependent on computers to function, plus there's jewelry and other things stashed away. Poverty, of course, would affect me. So would it everyone in the country. Civilization worldwide would shrink slightly, but i don't think the third world would come out of these 10-20 years worse off. Many machines operate on gasoline, most on electricity, and cars don't just fall apart if the little screen thing breaks. A solar flare would kill a lot of people working in power plants, maybe start a fire, but mexico city isn't known for its wooden constructions. The city cannot physically "burn down" nor the fires spread as proven by the san juanico disaster. I would probably find another job but its not like knowing anatomy, perspective and other things would go away. I definitely would enjoy writing the events down though, being significant in the upcoming history, noting down events to be summarized into some national history book.

The more i think about it the more i want it to happen.

i would be bored

I don't know how I'd get to anything besides my work. I'm too retarded to follow written instructions while driving

>I don't know how I'd get to anything besides my work. I'm too retarded to follow written instructions while driving
I recently just bought one of those large Rand McNally Road Atlas books to try to learn to navigate the good ole' fashioned way on a future road trip.
t. zoomzoom (haven't tried it yet)

That's good if you need to get to something on a main road but once you start getting into cul-de-sac hell suburbia they're useless and even if they are well mapped you'll still probably have to pull over and check the map once or twice.
>>
>>222592294
I'd be depressed. My phone and PC is my only escapism as a third worlder. Especially in a country that's worse than Mad Max where you can get murdered and enslaved for no reason
>>
>No more cute anime girls to fap to

That would be suicide tier tbqh famalamerino
>>
>>222594031
I feel you flipbro. Same here.
>>
>>222594084
Physical hentai manga exists, I'm sure you could find a few amongst the ruins of whatever remains of society afterwards.
>>
> what if everything that powered modern society, just, didn't?
of course a pathetic loser animation student with nothing to give the world would want the rest of us dragged down to his level
how about you learn a real skill
>>
>>222592294
i would probably be happier until they make the new computers again in a few years lol
>>
>>222593266
That's awesome. I used to do this all the time and it's fun to be your own navigator and have to use your head.

>>222592294
I would be happier. Even about the economic collapse because it's necessary for a better future.
>>

Based.

>everything that powered modern society,
Fuck you mean everything
>>
Let's be real, we'd all be dead within a week
>>
I use the phone to pay eveything, bills and coins are very rare here and they just assume you don't use it. If you need to pay for over 50 dollars they need to get the manager and get change.
>>
>>222593200
You wouldn't get anywhere.
Your car wouldn't run without ECU.
>>
>>222595766
If you can't even survive a week without modern society then you're probably lying in a hospital bed right now.
>>
>>222595902
I'd just drive my golf cart then.
No computers in it.

as long as I still have access to my banked funds I would be very happy and I think it would be good for society as a whole
a solar EMP ending the digital age would be kino
>>
>>222596147
>as long as I still have access to my banked funds
You won't. They're on a computer and the computer is gone.
>>
>>222592294
>no more power grids
>no more cars
Vast majority of the world's population would starve within a month because their local grocery store suddenly stopped stocking fresh food and no more is coming. Cities and any dense population centers would be fucked.

No country is prepared to rebuild and restart their electric grid with no computers, no communications, nothing. No large factory can manufacture anything without computers. The few rural survivals would lead simple lives, gradually re-establishing industry from small workshops and eventually juryrigging old heavy machinery to be usable without electronics.

Even militaries designed to operate off-grid would struggle with the consequences of this magical computer dust catastrophe. But they would have to be the ones to rebuild society.

ECUs are in substantially every car on the road
>>
>>222592294
i would feel nothing
>>
>>222592294
I would become extremely upset at the loss of 4chan, my games, my images, my porn, my drawings, my friends, search engines, wikipedia, youtube, digital music, digital movies, basically it would be less impactful to my life if 1 million of my countrymen died and I would become extremely sad and upset at being forced to live in the gay ass normalfag world
>>
>>222592294
My life would improve for sure but I would also lose a lot of information that I stored
>>
>>222596924
Losing 4chan would be good for all of us.
>>
>>222592294
Happier. Also every engine and every modern medicine should turn to dust too. All modern mechanisms.
>>
>>222597006
>every modern medicine
Why? Isn't modern medicine the only good thing about technology?
>>
>>222596972
no it wouldn't, this site is fun and good for you if you're not a big dumbo
>>
>>222597308
How is being manipulated with extreme porn fetishes and exposed to constant negativity and demoralization good for you?
>>
>>222597093
No. It's extremely resource demanding and only to save a few mostly unproductive members of society. Not that they would need to turn to dust though since we wouldn't be able to produce them anyway without computers and everything they make possible.

What's more important about modern medical practice is the knowledge we have of bodily functions and what can cause it to fail so we can prevent disease instead of treating it.
>>
>>222597093
Its degenerate. Especially medicine they use to keep old people living. I love and respect the elderly, and that is why I think modern technology, education, and medicine should go.
>>
>>222597565
you can't beat cynicism without being exposed to it
