What makes you spend your time on a dying imageboard iyc?
>>225375512Severe psychological troubles due to the domestic intelligence agency using the board to communicate during a campaign of targeted harassment.

>>225375512Been here since 2017 or so because I always heard wild stuff coming out of this shitsite and generally thought 4chan was a sort of secret club filled with smartfags given its history. That and always leaned pretty conservative, though that might because I grew up flyover America.Sort of just stuck around ever since tbf :I

>>225375512I live in flyover Sweden so there's nothing to do outside.
>>2253755124chan's death has been greatly exaggerated. I was here during Moot's bloody reign, 3000 years ago. The number of REAL posters are around the same. The "decline" is actually bots being filtered by the new captchas. Specifically, the latest captcha discourages one word replies (lol, k, kek, etc etc etc) due to the effort expended to post. The metric you should look at is length/"""'quality"'''(as much as shitposts can have quality) instead of number of posts.
im coming less and less these days, all the good stuff is on x and i mean you open the log at any given time half of the threads here are screenshots from x and generals
The internet has run its course. If you don't have real hobbies you're not in for a good time

>>225375512It’s literally all I’ve ever known. I’ve spent like 15 years here basically my entire adult life.
I'm on paternity leave for a year. Kid is asleep.

>>225375512Been here since crackychan first it was some edgy teenager stuff. Anime, gore, porn etc. then I genuinely started to get into counter culture until I learned creepychan was actually a mainstream model, you'd think I would be happy to see this meme hit the mainstream media but no I felt weirdly betrayed. Then it happened again and again and I realized that I actually believed in counter culture like I just hated mass culture wholesale. 4chan is this bizarre enterprise that seems to passively colonize the rest of the Internet and it's been like that since the start. As 'dead' as it is now (people have been saying it's dead since moot left even since Snacks left) this is pretty much the only website that rewards antisocial behavior, no namefagging, no updoots, no status, ritualism is shunned, references are tools not tribute, your banter is weighed only by quality alone. The only time I've felt threatened here was the increase in moderation that might actually kill the website.
>>225375512in 2014 the cultural landscape was enforced performative wholesome chungus, while edgy 4chan was a breath of fresh air.in 2026 the cultural landscape is edgy and toxic, while wholesome 4chan is a breath of fresh air.unironically
