I can't remember it now, but there was some sort of proto-Pixiv doujin site/forum that had true true original Touhou fanart from like 2002-2005. Someone posted the link on here a few years ago. I saved this picture from it, I think it's a Rumia from 2003 (earliest aesthetically pleasing art I could find of her)

I love old Touhou oekaki art, loved this picture for a while now and I don't even know where I got it since it isn't on the two main boorus and stuff from here has its own folder.
And yes, that Rumia is very adorable and I want to hug her instead of fuck her for once.

I like it because it's so early that her outfit wasn't standardized in fanart, you can see how much larger her collar is and how her necktie looks closer to a bowtie or hair ribbon than her canon depictions. Here's another I found of comparable age (Christmas 2003) and you can see how it's still bowtie style here if you look closely

To be fair her third eye and the rose around it is really well-drawn, if a high schooler did that I'd be very impressed.
Rest is fugly though and even I can't even have sex with this koishi, even KKHTA Koishi I'm attracted to (the later style, anyway)
