Japanese? In our China thread?
Thank you Meiling for inspiring me to try Chinese tea. What a wonderful discovery.
The Hong wears a thong.
This stuff tastes like dirt and kicks like a mule, and fittingly enough it feels like I've drunk horse tranquilizer.

>>50184011>>50184016I thought Chinese tea was basically just boiled water with very little additives. That could just mean the tea the average Chinese person drinks though.

what is her philosophy on life
>>50184726Sounds like you're thinking about Longjing, which is probably the most popular green tea in China. They drink it a lot like in picrel: straight up just leaves and boiled water in a glass that you top up as you go throughout the day. (They also do just drink straight up boiled / hot water as well, it's good for your gut according to traditional Chinese medicine.)A lot of green and white teas are drunk in the summer because less oxidized teas are associated with yin (cold, helps combat summer warmth), and darker, more oxidized teas become more popular in the winter, since they're associated with yang (hot, helps keep you nice and warm) like the Shou Puerh I was drinking. Tea is a cornerstone of Chinese culture, and it's a pretty deep rabbithole to fall into. It's also really comfy, in some way I can't put into words... that first pic with Meiling is a good example: it's sophisticated, while also being incredibly casual and relaxed. There isn't any pressure to strive for perfection like in the Japanese tea ceremony: you just pour hot water on good leaves and have a smooth drink that soothes the soul.
