Is the Colt Python a good SHTF weapon?
is this a shit thread?
>>61416080I don't see any logs yet
No Rick. Buy a Ruger.
>>61416066could be worse e.g. no gun.
>>61416128I would but they only seem to make the 7 shot GP100 once a year and only five at a fucking timeWhy are they such retards
>Is the Colt Python a good SHTF weapon?Yeah, make sure to pack a jill sandwich too
>>61416066If it's the 2020 model Python, maybe.
>>61416279Did they beef them up so they don't go out of time anymore?
>>61416066A gun shooting uncommon ammo that is made by a company known for shoddy QC?You be the judge
>>61416385So, yes?
>>61416217>and only five at a fucking timeIs it legitimately that low of a number? Jfc
>>61416128Stop acting like you know the way ahead. Like you know the rules
>>61416385>.357 is uncommon>.38spl is uncommonAnon do you have to wear a helmet whenever you leave the house?
>>61416438> uncommon> nobody uses it> only ammo left after the lootingCheckmate 9mmfag
>>61416377Yeah, they used the Trooper MkIII action, aka 2nd gen Colt action.Much more durable and most parts inside it are 17-4 stainless. Real tough stuff.
>>61416447>doesn't understand greentextsNewfags love exposing themselves. .357&.38 are super common, dumbfuck
The most important thing when it comes to surviving shtf is to be a main character. If you are just another npc with a glock and an ar15, you are NGMI. If you are the autist with obscure guns and unpredictable tendencies, you literally cannot be written out of the story.
>>61416674I have unpredictable tendies
>>61416682based
>>61416066I have a Colt trooper mkIII (police variant of the python) and it's honestly not great. The rifling is great but it's about as accurate as one would expect from any sort of pistol. You can reload it pretty quickly with a speed loader but 6 rounds is very limiting in an SHTF situation. I will admit, it is nice being able to fire both .38 and .357, but that's about the only considerable upside. You're all around better off getting a modern handgun like a Glock or a SIG for any practical purpose. By all means get a revolver for fun, but in an SHTF scenario, the Trooper is being handed off to a no guns friend of mine and I'll be carrying either my Glock or Makarov
>>61416720>get a GLAWKjust shut the fuck up, they're not even the best striker fire plastic pistol in their own price range
>>61416745It's true, the advice should be "Get an S&W M&P 2.0"
>>61416066Pic related is probably among the few handguns that would actually qualify as a good SHTF weapon.
>>61416770damn
>>61416770>>61416831There's really nothing special about it. I don't know how else to tell you, but the *173,000* rounds or whatever has some fairly serious caveats. Here's what we'd need to know:>what ammo>was it cleaned>what part(s) are they suggesting survived>are they suggesting no yoke tube peening occurred>did it need endshake bearings>did they need to fix parts rather than replace>any part replacementsI have never seen anyone provide answers or testing methodology which means it's just garbage marketing.
Some of my friends are real country and like to talk about some "SHTF" scenario. One, JaMarcus, claims that if an EMP blast struck the USA then many people would die yet country people would survive the best. Hunting, fishing, farming, gardens, guns, far from the blast and violent chaos of a domestic conflict, survival skills.I tell him that the most important thing in a scenario like that is probably the people you know and the connections you have, because mass co-operation is required. First the people you know, then the skills you have, and lastly, the supplies you have.
>>61416913its $4,000 so it has to be good
>>61417029Have you seen those crap ass 1911s Colt made for the Muhreens?
>>61417029The surplus originals certainly didn't cost nesr that. Why do europeans always make utility guns so fucking expensive? They do their cars this way too.
>>61417048Just luxury brand things. It's like buying a rolex when a seiko does the same thing for 1/100th of the price. Some people just like nice things.Honestly, if I had fuck you money, I'd have a mr73 and a rolex too.
>>61417417Have you ever been to a Rolex AD? Rolex is such a fucking unpleasant and insufferable company of fart-huffers I wouldn't get one even if it would magnetize my dick to attract bitches and have Bushs approach me to join Skull and Bones.
>>61416385.357 Magnum is found everywhere, man. Plus, everyone will give it to you if they find it because they're all carrying G19s, anyway.
>>61417464You've convinced me. I will carry a 686 into the apocalypse
>>61417464>glockniggers kill eachother over a moldy box of blazer 9mm>357 chads inherit the earthPottery
>>61417430I would walk in there with a wad of cash tucked in my jockstrap, whip it out, and slap it on the table. Then I'd hand the snobs my sweaty nut and asscrack money. They will gladly accept it so they can get their commission and pay for their leased BMW 330i for the month
>>61417485>>357 chads inherit the earthIt's already ours
>>61416770when did Pierre make a better revolver than Americans? we invented them, didn't we?
>>61417567We traded the revolver for the secret french fry recipe
It just looks so good.
>>61417567>when did Pierre make a better revolver than Americans?1873 and never again.
>>61418444Until you see one in person.
>>61416770the most common handgun caliber is still 9x19, so good luck finding ammo for your boomer crap, because no one stacks .357 or .38 anymore. at the end of the day, you'd be left with an expensive paperweight. also, have fun finding spare parts for a high end match gun in a war torn shithole.
>>61418492
>>61418492>>61418499
>>61418495chad revolvers dont need spare parts. they never break unlike tupperware shit
>>61418499>>61418492What happened to this poor babby?
>>61418840Olt made it.
>>61417044Well, the only thing wrong with them was the poor finish, right? They fixed that by switching to the ion-bond finish.
>>61418495>Doesn't know how to reload>Thinks hes gmilol
>>61418495>because no one stacks .357 or .38 anymore... but many of us do though
>>61418945Looks like someone rattle canned a stainless version
>>61418444Get the Stainless one if you want one you can actually use
>>61419404they look good dirty
>>61419813I sometimes wish the powder marks didn't so easily wipe off the stainless finish, but then again I paid for that.

>>61418492Is that a QR code on the frame?
>>61416385You do realise that there are adapters available that allow for using 9mm Parabellum and .380 ACP, since those are the same diameter?
>>61416720Post a picture of said Colt please anon.
>>61420175That'd the serial.
>>61420155There's also getting a gun that doesn't have a horrendous grip angle that induces malfunctions.
Cant limp wrist a .357 babby
>>61416217Psst, hey. The crown has passed. It’s over here now.
>>61420219Ask and you shall receive.
>>61424554is the 66 really good now or still just another taurus meme?
>>61424697Damn, nice.
>>61420593I meant the thing to the right of the serial number.
>>61424554I would unironically buy a Taurus medium-frame revolver if they made one in .327 Federal Magnum.
>>61416066>SHTFFalse paradigm, colt python is a great gun but if its used get it seen by a good gunsmith to get the timing perfect.People play with revolvers to much and it wears on them.
Since you are revolver faggots, enjoy a richards conversion of an 1860 uberti belly gun
>>61417430Had a few rollys when I did sales. Never bought one from a dealer. That was considered kinda dumb. Worked briefly as security for a jewelry store that was a dealer. They seemed nice.
>>61416066357 chads stand up!
>ITT: People buying guns with MIM internals
>>61428059ok cool
>>61427955Did you polish that baby?
>>61428059Boom
>>61416066maybe not a colt python but this would be bad ass. it has an 8 shot cylinder.
>>61416066yes its the best one as proven by its use in the hit documentary "the walking dead"
God I want a blued Python so fucking badly
>>61429697then buy one.
>>61428059.t doesn't understand MIM
>>61428059Forged parts haven't been common since the 1950s, and MIM internals are better than punched parts.
>>61424697Yeah
>>61424554There’s been a couple different anons just this year that bought Taurus revolvers, and had to exchange them for Rugers since 2-3 chambers of the cylinders weren’t aligned and they were badly shaving lead.
>>61417044What, in your opinion, was wrong with them?
>>61416066python is a higher end range toy, why not shitty shotgun? needs fewer parts to run, ammo everywhere, trigger not even necessary in some cases. better for shtf
>>61416066Yeah, haven’t you seen The Walking Dead?? It’s basically OP and needs a nerf.
>>61417028>country people would survive the best. Hunting, fishing, farming, gardens, guns, far from the blast and violent chaos of a domestic conflict, survival skillsYour friend is a tard for the most part. The majority of folks in rural towns don't hunt, farm or fish on a daily basis, much less for sustenance, and it's hard to feed an entire family with just a small garden. We have day jobs and drive to walmart for groceries every week. Plus we've got a shitton of old fatfuck boomers who will drop dead after a week of not getting their meds shipped in. That's not to say that we don't have a higher percentage of people who do match your description than urbanites but they're not an average representation. We're coddled as much as anyone by modern society
>>61431876They would survive if they have a colt python.
meh you could do worse. it wouldnt be ideal for fighting other humans, but it's big enough to hunt with if you had to and get close enough. you could use ratshot and potentially hunt rodents or small birds. it would be alright
>>61431891JFK would've lived if he just had a colt python
It's really good, but a bit overkill for some of the weaker enemies, which wouldn't be a problem if not for ammo scarcity.
>>61431963Fact
>>61432189this + crossbow
>>61426095taurus revolvers are just clones of smith and wesson designs with minor differences between them and an obviously lower level of fit and finish. if you replace the springs they're fine. they're also seem ridiculously cheap because everyone sells their old rugers and smiths and god forbid their colts for way more than they bought them new since they don't make a lot of them every year, so you can walk into a pawn shop and see a bunch of beat to shit $800 sp101's and $1000 686's next to a brand new $450 taurus
>>61416066revolvers suck read about it here>>61433639literally any semi auto would outperform it
>>61416066OG one? No, they have a bad tendency to develop timing issues and that's gonna kill the gun if you don't have access to a gunsmith who can fix it. Better options are Ruger or S&W .357s. Even as a revolverfag, I'd still prefer to carry a Glock 19 in case of SHTF. I guess you could have both if you wanted lol. Its like an extra 2-3 lbs.
>>61433701meme thread
>>61433362who sells the springs?
