What do I do anons? Guns are cool and I want to have a rifle of my own but I can't so long as I live at home. No, I won't be moving out anytime soon so don't go there.
>>
What do you do?
>move out
>shut the fuck up and don't make this shitty thread
those are your two options

Go buy one
>>
I saved up enough money to buy my car and my first two shotguns. My parents were the same, I saved up and moved out, bringing my guns with me and flipping the double bird. Just stop being a faggot, get a job, make money and move out and do your own shit.

Still in college. Most of my spare cash is going to tuition. Moving out until I have a job that isn't just over minimum wage isn't really an option.

Hahahaha just like my grandfather always said "when in doubt, shoot first and ask questions later."

It's for electrical engineering. Got 60% of my tuition paid for by the state. It's gonna work out.

What are you going to college for? Also lie on your resume and take a bunch of bullshit do nothing WFH jobs if you can find some. Plus make sure you get your Pell Grant and if you're getting any first responder (or adjacent) degree, take out as much federal student loans as possible cause they forgive them on a 4 year cycle.

You can try and compromise by offering to buy a safe or even just a trigger lock (or a cable lock) and offer to give them the keys or let them keep the combination to themselves. It's not very dignified but such is life as a pleb with no property of their own. I would strongly recommend against getting it without their permission because you will not be able to use it or even have it without their knowledge. Anyway, guns are an expensive hobby so it might be worthwhile to wait a few years anyway.
>>
>>61433605
God I feel like a dumbass. Gun safes might actually be an option for this. I'm going to end up jumping through more hoops to own a gun in my house than in New York City.

My Mom was like this a bit at first.
I took a local gun safety class taught by a local range and got a conceal carry license all before I owned a gun.

I also somehow convinced my Mom to take the class herself after I did. She actually liked it so much that she took a second follow-up training class.
After that, I was allowed to buy the pistol I wanted to keep in the house. I go to the range ever so often.

Make sure you display you are properly educated and take safety very seriously, and it should be easier for you. Also consider taking local skeet shooting classes.
>>
>>61433662
That's actually good advice. My mom gave me shit for wanting a BB gun because she thought you had to have hunter's safety to own one. Maybe taking an actual class would cool her the fuck off.
>>
Well shoot turns out there's an indoor range near here that does classes. We might be in business fellas! Thanks for all the advice, both on the gun problem and on college funding!
>>
>>61433526
Buy a gun when you move out and never tell your parents. Their house, they're allowed to tell you not to have a firearm while you live there.
>>
>>61433575
If you rent somewhere you could keep your gun there. Don't bring your gun to your parent's house.

I have shitty parents too, I literally don't interact with them at all.

>>

Just buy one anyways and sneak it in. That's what my friend did. He parents forbade him as well, but he wound up buying a Mosin, m1917, and a Garand that he hides under his bed and cleans at my place. He is a musician, so he has a bag for a drum stand that he hides them in when taking them in and out of the house.

Ask if they would be okay with you making your own, then get a black powder rifle kit or an 80% ar lower depending on their response.
>>
>>61433844
I want to be cuddled and headpatted by Mrs. Vincent.
>>
>>61433526
Just buy one and hide it from them.

My sister in law lives at home and she's been hiding an AUG in a tennis racket bag for about 4 years now.
>>
>>61434487
You're a genius, making the firearm myself in my home workshop is the perfect way to get around it. Unfortunately, I'd definitely blow myself up.
>>
>>61434548
AUG in the tennis racket bag is hilarious, any way you can snag a photo of that???
>>
Just wait until you move out. Then tell them all about the cool new gun you bought and ask them if they want to go to the range and try it out themselves. Either they respect you and your interests, or they don't. When you don't live with them and are a real adult, you can tell them to fuck off if they get mad about it. In the meantime, you live in their house so abide by their rules.
>>
>>61434631
Yeah I think all the anons who have suggested I just wait are probably in the right. I'm going to try talking to them about it and bring up buying a gun safe but with the added expenses it would probably be better to just put the money towards tuition and move out sooner.
>>
>>61433526
I just showed up one day with an AK. You live in their house though, and you're still a kid. You're gonna be a kid until you're at least like 20, and if you weren't you'd be out of the house by now anyway. So accept their rules, kid. It beats funneling money into the rent furnace.
>>
>>61434732
Alternatively, get a shotgun and tell them it's a paintball gun or musket or something. Something that's nor a real gun, like a bean bag gun. They sound like retards so thru probably won't know. Don't even tell them, but if they find out just say "you wouldn't let me get a gun so I got a bean bag gun just for fun/home defense." It has to be a shotgun because normies don't even know what that is, and if they get butthurt it's cheap anyway. You can sell it or throw it in the trash.
>>
>>61433526
just do it anyway and shut the fuck up about it. if you're 18 they probably aren't searching your room, just hide it. if they flip shit, grab the rifle and walk out. They sound like shitty parents, let them stay defenseless.
>>
>>61433526
>What do I do anons?
Move out
>but i can't afford it
Welcome to adulthood. Get a job& save your money for a cheap apartment with some roommates. Then get yourself a rifle
>>
>>61433526
tell them that buying the rifle was a silly idea and promise not to buy the rifle while you're under their roof. then go build yourself a polymer 80 because you didn't say anything about pistols

just tell the gun store you're buying 9mm rounds for a carbine and they'll probably let it slide, or you can order it online and have it held at the ups/fedex place for pickup. I've never had an online ammo order ship with 21+ verification on it
>>
>>61433526
this is gonna shock you but you can just wait it out a couple years and get your guns then. Like i know its not idea but a year or two doesn't make that much of a difference.

If you decide to sneak a gun into the house, wait at least 3 months so your parents forgot you asked.
>>
>>61433526
Their house really their rules. They paid 120,000 tokens for a safe space and spruced it up nice for a further 50,000.

On the other hand, you want to pay 500 tokens for a fourthhand POS and spoil their effort of 20 years plus 170,000. They took such good care of providing your material needs you turned into a selfish POS.

Work for half a year, save all of it, make a down payment on a POS place to keep your POS gun and your POS self. Problem solved.

POS.
>>
>>61433526
Use it as motivation to not be living with your parents
>>
>>61433526
Move out, because ultimately it is your parents house and this their rules. As such suck it up for now, but remember this moment for the future.

don't listen to that idiot. graduate. you will make 80k basically immediately with an ee degree if you are willing to move close to a few reasonable sized cities. I did chemical and it's cool to know science shit.

go buy a rifle small enough to fit (maybe disassembled) in a duffle bag or somewhere discreet. 16 inch upper and lower would be easy. just get creative with it and keep it on the down low until you move out.

>>
>>61433561
Yeah, my dad wouldn’t let me have a gun either and threatened to do that to me after he found the stainless USP45 that I bought. I was a high school senior and 18, couldn’t afford to not live with him so he confiscated it and told me he’d kick me out if I ever did it again.

So I naturally did it again, this time with a USP Tactical he found in my dresser when I was out of town to visit DC with some friends. Didn’t kick me out then, but finally did when he found the third USP in a different dresser the day I left for boot camp. Haven’t had him as a part in my life since.
>>
>>61433662
And then you’ve got my mom who got 18 year old me a .45 for graduation and had no problems getting handguns on behalf of under-21 year old me if I had the dough.

he's a complete citizen now, he's got a somewhat successful business and that life is in the rear view according to him.

Nah, she lives interstate (in Cali of all places so she even had to get my wife to gift her the gun since she was under 21 at the time).

And it's actually an RDB-C. I don't know why I wrote AUG, she's talked about that being her next gun but she hasn't bought it yet.
>>

>>
I have the same situation as you, maybe even worse. I'm 21 and most people in my family were introduced to firearms at a young age and got their own except for me. I never was taught shit in my childhood because I grew up very sheltered. Just yesterday my Mom was surprised when I said I don't know how to filet a fish and said she was good at it yet forgets she never wanted to teach me.
In my household I know the most about firearms and have proved I'm very safe with them, even taught my Mom to shoot an AR at the range. I have a membership I pay each month to my local range to rent firearms and buy ammo. Still not allowed to have my own though. My Dad only has a stock Glock 19 he shoots once a year at most and thinks that gives him credibility on why I shouldn't have any kek. He himself didn't like when my state (Texas) passed Constitutional Carry. He's an absolute pussy who's been hesitant to teach me anything. He had to seriously convince my mother just to have his Glock in the house.
But I keep an AR and 2 handguns hidden away in my room. Going to get a 1911 later this year. If you can get a takedown rifle or handgun there's a lot of ways you can keep them hidden.

I'm 22 and live at home myself. My family's pretty cool. I managed to get some hunting guns and it was fine and dandy. Then I came home with a cheap Anderson AR. Worst I got was mom being like: "What do you need that for?" My ex cop father however thought it was pretty cool and examined it. Feels nice not to have a gay libshit family. Ended up trading that gun for a motorcycle. Got a decent PSA now.

I wouldn't ask /k/. There's a fair number of people in here that would argue you should just move out. But, they always conveniently seem to forget how expensive the housing situation is; nevertheless renting, which is even worse. I'm not sure why your parents are so anal about having a gun in your house. I need more information.
>>
>>61433526
>What do I do anons?
1. Tell them not to have a fucking tantrum when you POLITELY ASK IF YOU CAN DO SOMETHING. Jesus fucking Christ, my parents are noguns, and when I asked if I could have guns in the house, they just said "nah, please don't", so I didn't. They didn't fly into a rage when asked a simple question because they reached mental adulthood four decades ago, something your parents are evidently struggling with despite being old enough to have an adult child.
2. Get a job, save money, and stop living under the same roof as a couple of faggots.

Think I'll spend the next couple years perfecting those skills for the coming collapse. Anyone have any suggestions for training my firearm skills in the meantime? I have really limited experience with firearms but would like to get better.
>>
>>61442634
I like this suggestion. This is doable with my current resources and will allow me to contribute to the common defense in my area.

Hey congrats man! I think I'll probably go for my masters and stop there. I hate research and the research side of engineering bores me. Much rather work in industry. Would like to work EE jobs in the middle of no-where for the National Weather Service or something like that.

Just buy one, I bought an AR in college that I kept in a guitar case for years, my family only ever found out because I was out of town for a week and my little cousin wanted to try learning guitar but they didn't want to buy her one so they brought mine it over, wish I could have been there. They're pretty anti gun but the whole asking for forgiveness thing is true, especially since it didn't grow legs and start killing people.
>>
>>61442369
I know from experience too, no point in arguing with parents. Just try to find some way to get one without causing any conflict. Guitar case is always a good move, idk how nosy your parents are.
>>
>>61433526
Store it outside the house at a different family members house or a good friend? I kept guns at my buddys apartment when l was in the barracks

>report gun stolen
>dad is a felon now
>he gets his wish of never owning a firearm granted by the government he loves so much and free lodging for a number of years

Happy birthday, dad.

Just move out faggot
>>
>>61433526
If you're over 18 you never have the right to complain about things your parents won't let you do. You either do it and move out or accept that there are rules when you're sponging off someone else.
>>
Move out of your parents house you freak.
t. 36yo NEET living with parents

FPBP
Their house, their rules. Don't be a faggot
>>
Just hide it somewhere, a long gun is harder to stow away but a pistol and some extra mags and bullets are easy. Don't ask for permission like some child, just buy it. If you're that scared of your parents going through your stuff, just get yourself a horse dildo and put that into the top drawer. They ain't gonna search anymore after finding that.

The fag gambit? That's a new one.
>>
I guess the question I have for everyone saying "hide it" is: how am I supposed to train my marksmanship? Its one thing to own a gun, another to be proficient at using it.
>>
>>61434959
>just tell the gun store you're buying 9mm rounds for a carbine and they'll probably let it slide
Cuck state detected. Gun stores shouldn't be asking questions when you're buying ammo.
>>
>>61433526
Grow up. Be a big boy and you can make your own rules. Or keep mooching off your parents and live under their thumb.

Based weatherbro. I used to wanna work there as a meteorologist but I realized I can't do calculus
>>
>>61433526
Get a job. Move out. Buy guns. Stop being lazy. Go to college and get a stem degree so you can work and rent an apartment.
>>
>>61451029
See the rest of the thread. In the process of acquiring a STEM degree as we speak.
>>
>>61433526
>No, I won't be moving out anytime soon so don't go there.

Sorry, but your real problem is not the toy you want to buy, it's that you're simultaneously entitled and weak. Stop being you.
>>
Lot of coping rentoids in this thread
>>
>>61450822
You can always self teach weather prediction. All the models the NWS puts out give you enough data to make your own predictions. If you're motivated you can be an amateur meteorologist!
>>
>>61433597
anons mocking you are retarded, >>61435130 and >>61447894 are correct. I have a buddy who graduated as an EE and just got his first job at NASA, already designing stuff that'll go into operational equipment.
>>
>>61448691
This may sound cringe, but if you have 7 friends who might be interested in force on force stuff, realistic airsoft guns can be substituted for simunitions to get some squad-level practice. I would do it if my friends were interested, and I have heard Japs that do a bunch of airsoft tend to be pretty good with the real deal when they come to American rental ranges.
>>
>>61450334
Obviously sneak it out and head to a range time to time.

Figured that I would get some friction on here regardless of what I said (I'm not Lord Miles by any means kek) I hope that EE is the right route, I really enjoy it and I think it will allow me to support a family later on down the road.

Oh god why didn't I think of this??? I get invited to local milsims all the time by friends but haven't had the chance to go. I should make the effort.

Gotta Troon out my friend. Go full-on tranny and demand they accept you as their daughter.

Eventually, they'll BEG for you to take an interest in masculine activities again and buy you whatever weapon is required to save their bloodline.

Buy a glonk and hide it. I'm literally in a process of getting a glonk 19 illegally in Canada.

>>

Give me your address so I can break in and rob your house and rape your mom. Then your parents will see how necessary it is to have a gun in the house.

>I'm not sure why your parents are so anal about having a gun in your house. I need more information.
Some boomer parents categorize 'gun' as a negative thing in their brain (smoking, weed, tattoos, nose piercings). They see you as some sort of deviant. Could also be a trust issue.
>>
>>61433526
Listen to your parents
>>

I feel bad for people in your situation, my parents are normie libtards and they were still totally fine with me having guns at like 16 lols
>>
>>61433526
If you're 18 you now have rights. It's your house too if you live there. Tell them to kick sand, and go to the court house. Buy a lock for your door.
>>
>>all I wanted was to buy an old school rifle
What were you planning on getting anyway?
