Some russians believe that they are firing american-origin 203mm shells inherited from pre-revolutionary iran. Chat, is this real?

>American 203-mm shells from the M110 self-propelled howitzer in service with Russian artillerymen. The "American" ammunition has a completely identical caliber to the 2S7 "Pion" (Malka) guns and is interchangeable.

>Initially, it was assumed that these 203-mm shells fell into the hands of the Russian Armed Forces as trophies from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, since the United States announced the supply of shells to the Ukrainian "Пиoнaм".

>However, it is most likely that these particular shells in the photo were supplied to Russia from Iran, which in turn were supplied from the United States since the 70s, when the countries were friends. It is precisely this method of appearance of American shells that is also indicated by the previously unknown ammunition under the symbol “Product 203”, which has appeared in the new domestic shooting tables since 2023.

where else?

so when will the 203mm be featured in an OnlyFans video like the other ones?

there is only one woman with an ass big enough to take a 203mm shell and her name is
yuh mudda
The possibility that they still have a large pre-79 stockpile around is interesting.

Amazing how these shells and fuzes don't look rusted/rotted for being so old.

Especially since they fought an 8 year border war in the 1980s. How many fucking shells did they buy? Or did they lose all of the guns and just had useless ammo then?

>scraped-off UN HCC diamonds
Not on 70s Era US gifts to Iran.
70s US ammo packaging didnt use adhesive HD labelling and US commonly used the circle-cross-triangle-diamond Hazard Division labels back then.
Also unlikely Iranian military would add them post-70s to be UN packaging compliant.
More likely the adhesive labels were retro-added to US stocks in long-term storage in 90s or later - then gifted to Ukraine, then acquired and used by Russia.

Iyaayas.

And theyre not shell containers, theyre canisters for the propellant bags.
>>
>>61459136
Lot Number ends in '88' = HE filling cast in shell in 1988.
Shah Reza Pahlavi overthrown in 1979.
US not shipping shells to Iran after 1988 manufacture.
Iran-Iraq war ended 1987 so unlikely to be captured from Iraq by Iran
May have been given to Saddam's Iraq after 1988 and acquired by Iranians in the collapse of Saddam's Ammo Depots and general looting, then passed to Russia.

Still most likely ex-Ukrainian stock.
>>
>>61459147
M82 primers Lot year = 1985
Pre-Shah but not unusual to have remained in US stocks until recently as also used in 155mm Howitzers M198, M777 and M109 SPs, then gifted to Ukraine with M777s.
>>
If this came from Ukraine how the fuck did they let heavy artillery ammo get captured?
>>
Russians also believe that if you gang-fuck a teenage boy in the ass until he passes out from blood loss you will be immune from bullets and invisible to drones as long as you chant 'ROOTY TOOTY POOTY IS MAH TOOTY TOOTY' while hiding in a foxhole

Those M557 Fuzes have been repacked recently.
The plastic storage frames in the wooden box are designed to fit one into a standard M2A1 ammo can (".50cal can") holding 8 fuzes in vacuum-seal.
They've been repacked into the wooden box with improvised cardboard spacers to stop them rattling.
Again, likely to have been a recent US ammo repack, not Slavic 'ammo logistics' of both Sides which is usually just dump them all loose in an old box.

>iyaayas
Its "YAT-YAS", anon.
>>
>>61461245
Heavy artillery ammo doesn't get retrograded when you bug-out.
It's usually been ground-loaded in a gun position and without trucks and MHE to pick it up, in a hurry it just gets left behind as the guns drive off.

>Pre-Shah.
Oops: *post-Shah but potentially during Iran-Iraq War
But still unlikely as per previous, and more unlikely that brand new stock would have been shipped between 1985 and 88 when there would be much older stock in US storage to donate first.
>>
>>61461269
Bulk ammo depots have also changed hands multiple times, especially in the first year before the static trenches set in, instead of having the logistics for hundreds of truckloads all being rapidly transported rearwards in each 'tactical realignment'.
>>
>>61460598
They bought a shit ton but I’m gonna say they used most of it, at least when it comes to missiles they had to do some interesting things to keep some vehicles in combat. I’m talking like mounting AGM-65 Mavericks to AH-1 Cobras due to a TOW shortage, or mounting Hawk SAMs to F-14s when they began running out of Phoenixes.

Russians captured a bunch of big bases in the south during the initial invasion.

>woman

Clearly you don't understand the Russian military if you think a woman would be involved..

The honour of the motor rifle regiment is at stake if some of the battlegroup's twinks doesn't take it. Excluding the command company's twinks since they are banned from taking large insertions to stay as pure trenchwives to the staff officers.

Lot numbers for old shells don’t contain dates you dumbass. It’s literally just a lot number to say this is 88 out of X number of lots. As an old style of lot number it does not contain a year of manufacture but it is missing the interfix number, which is the number that comes before the 88, which are just serial numbers. So your whole analysis is fucking retarded and false.
>>
>>61461232
Again your analysis is stupid and wrong, the 85 is not a year but is simply the serial number part of the lot number. kys.
>>
>>61461696
So before USA gave Ukraine any 203mm ammo?
>>
>>61462249
>>61462261
I guess I should add that the new standard for lot numbers was adopted in 1974 so the fact that these shells have an old style lot number means they were manufactured some time before 1974.

While having to buy rusty old nork shells? Is that another gesture of good will? And why did they reduce the amount of shells fired if they have an endless supply?
>>
>>61466977
>its inexhaustible supply
They are showcasing Iranian shell stockpiles in OP.
>>
>>61459134
how the fuck were those shells not fired during the 10 year clusterfuck with iraq? also good luck to the russians getting firing tables for this ammo out of a pion tube
>>
>>61459136
>>61459134
Fuck Russia finally got some high quality shells.
>>
>>61459134
Might also be Egyptian shells. Egypt also operates the M110 and they've already supplied Russia with helicopter parts before. Vietnam might also have shells left which originally belonged to the ARVN.
>>61466977
How is Russia's supply inexhaustible when they're using North Korean and potentially pre-1970s American shells?

Now I know that both the 2s7 and M110 are 203 mm gun systems, however I always thought that there were enough small difference between the two that ammo was not interchangeable.
