>An AK so powerful it has never been cloned
What makes it so special exactly?
>>
it looks like muh dik
>>
>>61472431
Honestly in a world of reproductions that is a decent question, maybe just lack of demand. I do want to know more about that magazine tho
>>
>>61472496
it has a lanyard loop so it doesn't get lost. Finnish autism.
>>
>>61472496
Finland destroyed all the tooling to make the RK-95 so you would need to obtain a handful of the rifles and reverse enginner. Pretty expensive but yiu could defiantly do it if you had the money.
>>
>>61472431
It's just an AK with tighter tolerances making it slightly more accurate. The Galil is an attempt to copy it but they fucked that attempt up bad and just made a heavier AK with the same accuracy.

I wouldn't spend the money for a Valmet, they stopped production in like the 80s so they're super old and busted. Not to mention not even that much more accurate than a standard AK. You can pull more accuracy by holding the mag to essentially free float the barrel.
>>

>Finland destroyed all the tooling to make the RK-95
WHAT? Aw man, I would've given them like ten bucks for it, those assholes are criminals
>>
>>61472567
Also considering it shares no parts with the AK, it doesn't have commonality going for it. If you're looking for a not-an-AK that's more accurate or with better comfort features just get a VZ58 or Sig550 in 7.62x39.
>>
>>61472567
"slightly"
nah, alot.
what i hate about the rk95 tho is the stock wiggle some of them have after being folded and unfolded thousands of times by conscripts.
>>
>>61472431
The Israelis made a 5.56 knockoff and the South Africans cloned it, so your premise is wrong on its face.
>>
>>61472575
>considering it shares no parts with the AK, it doesn't have commonality going for it
Yes it does, the important parts i.e. bolt and carrier. Otherwise I agree, even the pistol grip is non-standard and the buttstock can only be swapped for Galil stocks
>>
>>61473916
I will add that you can also use AK safeties and e.g. ALG triggers but they will require minor fitting due to slight differences in the measurements
>>
>>61473916
>>61473935
Mags are interchangeable too I thought
>>
>>61473942
I thought that was self-explanatory but yes, Magpul mags will not fit in some Sako rifles but all others should
>>
>>61472550
It's because the Finns Ski with their guns so you can clip it quick to not fall off/away
>>
It's gonna get replaced by some Finn'd AR
truly sovlless
>>
>>61472431
>>An AK so powerful it has never been cloned
Because the AK is a genetic dead end at this point
>>
>>61474063
You may know Finns as quirky forest dwellers but the reality in the social media era is that we are a nation ashamed of not being literally America in every respect
>>
>>61472574
Budget cuts and marginal improvements over RK62 made the FDF order smaller than anticipated. Shitty import rules made it too expensive to bring it stateside. Then after Beretta bought Sako they were made to focus in long rifles to not compete with ARX marketing.

I just want to know why they always look green in photos. Are they actually green? When i say green I mean if you took how parkerizing kind of makes guns look dark blue/grey, it'd be like that but green.
>>
>>61473961
honestly arsenal mags are the best fit for the 95/92

t. has one
>>
>>61474177
assembly line was gone about 4 years before sako was bought by beretta

The Galil was based on the RK-62 (the first models were literally built on RK-62 receivers). RK-95's insides are just about the same as the RK-62's. The main differences are the ergonomics and the possibility to fire rifle grenades.

>>61474261
They don't look green in real life. Its just the lighting in professionally taken photographs.
>>
>>61474315
Nah it's Finnish steel mags or bust
>>
>>61474261
A tiny bit I guess, but I think it's just the old bluing absorbing the layers of orange gun oil we've caked on over the decades.
>>61473963
wut? it's just so you can hang them with a piece of string on our old LBE harnesses (the one you've seen in the picture with the guy carrying 10 yellow AT mines) once we run out of MOLLE vests and pouches to issue.
>>
>>61472431
galil is an copy of it. Even has the same iron sights
>>
>>61475802
Galil is a copy of the 62, that's a 95
>>
>>61472431
>>An AK so powerful it has never been cloned
Anon, the Galil is literally a shitty clone of the RK.

>Are they actually green?
They weren't before the latest modernization just before we decided to just buy AR-pattern guns instead. Now some are, most are not
>>
These are the new service rifles. Entering production soon, the old RK pattern rifles have been ordered to be scrapped after the transition to new rifles. Melted and then produced into something else, all 200k+ rifles.
>>
>>61477064
Finland was always a meme country but that's pathetic. They could at least sell the parts kits to us burgers.
>>
I just want the dust cover, bolt carrier and gas block for aesthetic purposes to put on a Galil. Finrand can keep everything else.
>>
>>61477226
>They could at least sell the parts kits to us burgers.
No. The law that forbid that came into force in 2007. Hilariously it also forbids surplusing completely innocent bolt action rifles because "what about if those guns end up killing Palestinian children boohoo"
>>
>>61477064
>the old RK pattern rifles have been ordered to be scrapped after the transition to new rifles. Melted and then produced into something else, all 200k+ rifles.
Bullshit. You got a source for that?
>>
>>61477764
Of course he doesn't
Don't get me wrong, I think it will eventually happen too, but probably not until the 2050s
>>
>>61478632
Indeed. Finnish Gypsy Forces and giving up on material are incompatible. They will be slowly replaced.
None of us reservists will ever get to use that fancy new shit.

Utti jaeger regiment.

Wtf are you talking about? It got cloned in the form of the Israeli Galil and the South African Vektor R-4.

this thread reminds me to take the M39 out of the safe.

All repros would need to do is the handguard, gas block, and sight tower(if modifying akm and not doing a gallil repro lower) as everything else either has a reproduction or an equivalent from regular ak.

Some kind of magic, surely.
>>
>>61472462
Like lovingly handled and cared for by your mother's hands?

>All repros would need to do is the handguard, gas block, and sight tower(if modifying akm and not doing a gallil repro lower) as everything else either has a reproduction or an equivalent from regular ak.

If you would like to built a accurate repro, which may actually have same performance: Barrel (high quality and without chrome lining), muzzle brake, front sight assembly, gas block with on/off switch, handguard, gas-piston tube, gas piston, receiver (milled and lower front section differs from AK plus receiver cover tightening parts assembly), trigger, rear sight assembly, pistol grip.

SAKO sold extra parts to a private company about 20 years ago and much the parts have since been sold out. SAKO and Finnish military still have them, but for obvious reasons they don't sell any, although SAKO still still fixes also SAO-rifles (Sako 92S) that it made for civilian market..
