Just one AASM is more expensive than a FAB-3000 , FAB-1500 and FAB-500 combined.

This has been done only to carry under half the explosive mass than all three FAB variants when comparing with the AASMs own variants.

Whilst the AASM uses a rocket motor to hit a target at a max range of 70Kilometres, A FAB-1500 achieves the exact same range by using a smart kit which uses glide wings and satellite guidance.

Why is the European arms industry so stupid?

Yes

>France
>$41,000 GDP/capita

>Russia

makes sense to me. Actually, it seems like the French are getting a better deal relative to the health of their economy.
>>

>the French are getting a better deal relative to the health of their economy
the per-weapon cost is $300,000 or twelve times the cost of the comparable American JDAM

extreme cope
>>
>>61476792
You’re comparing two separate weapon systems under the fallacy they have the same purpose. You are truly a retard.

2 different weapons retard AASM is used differently. If you spent the 5 seconds to search that you’d see how stupid your point is.
>>
>>61476792
well, Russia paid $200,000 to Iran - in gold - for each Shahed they purchased in 2023. That seems to be in the same ballpark.
>>
>>61476886
> for each Shahed
three for a million, or $ 333,333 per unit
>>
>>61476951
>flies faster more maneuverable
That’s really what you picked up from reading the AASM description? You’re such a dullard. The AASM is much more advanced than your garbage fab or a jdam glider. You underestimate French autism. It’ll be bombing Moscow soon.
>>
>>61476754
FAB-1500 doesn't have 70 km range. Its also inguided bomb.
Pointless thread.
>>
>>61476754
>Why is the European arms industry so stupid?
Idk, maybe they think that dropping 3 ton bombs over your own cities due to their shitty quality is not very acceptable.
>>
>>61476874
nigga no country in the UNIVERSE would pay $275000 more for a bomb that only flies faster and more manoeuvrable but with a lower payload and equal range when compared with a FAB-1500 with a smart kit which only costs $13200
EACH BOMB IS USED TO BOMB BASEMENTS IN BELGOROD.
>>61476773
Frances price for a bomb is 7.32x higher than their GDP.
Meanwhile the average Russian could buy their own FAB-1500 + Glide kit, blow your fat ass up and still have enough money to buy your mother her order at McDonalds. And this makes sense to you?
>>
>>61476754
Russian wunderwaffe doesn't have a terminal seeker, has a bigger CEP and can't hit moving targets

>>
>>61477102
Well that’s too bad because 50 of those are going to be bombing Russian bases every day for the next year. Good luck hitting a wheat field with your garbage weapons.
>>
>>61477113
So you trivialize advanced guidance systems to ‘faster more manoeuvrable‘.

not worth it too expensive. what a waste.
>>61477164
no i keep making spelling mistakes

I don't like it when you all call me indian for failing to fall into the western status quo
im only trying to alert you that the European arms industry is expensive too expensive

the same issue is with the Eurocopter
another European failure $100 million excluding development cost each when they could've just bought an Apache for $50mil
>>
>>61477120
>>61476773
>>61476982
>>
>>61477203
>western status quo
You’re not doing yourself any favors Ramdeep. Weapons are expensive because they work, when you compare the functionality to cost it’s well worth investment. Look at Iran’s Shaheeds which Russia is heavily reliant upon for terror strikes on civilian infrastructure: during Iran’s recent chimp-out only half actually actually got into the air; effectively eliminating half of their stock to be repaired.
>>
>>61476754
The idiots who made this apparently hope to bring it's price down from $300000 to just $80000
They would likely be able to put glide wings onto it too and for a marginal cost since it already has it's guidance system.
>>
>>61477245
So they dumb it down to a more affordable commercial cost. That’s common for export models. They often don’t get all the gizmos and gadgets.
>>
>>61477245
>I don't understand scale of production.

They've already slashed the unit cost down to 120,000 euros so 80,000 isn't out of the realm of possibility. Plus, it looks like France is perfectly willing to pay a premium in order to ensure they have their own domestically built weaponry.

And let's not forget that it's not just the guidance kit, but also an extra rocket booster to increase range.
>>
>>61477225
>you are ignorant western dog bread is very cheap!
>>
>>61477237
Making something intended to be disposable aka a bomb too reliable is a ridiculous and flawed philosophy. Western media call artillery shells incredibly rare, incredibly expensive, and incredibly scarce. This is because the process to making them in western countries is incredibly laboursome and expensive via X-rays, material sourcing, gunpowder making.
Disposable weapons made excessive reliable actually harms the logistics of warfare and this is why Ukraine is suffering. They are suppose to be disposable, when the Nazis built tanks to last a century they ran out of steel in less than half a decade. Go figure right?
>>
>>61477294
this attitude is why zigger weapons have CEPs measured in grid squares
>>
>>61477271
price of rocket booster is included
so is guidance kit
glide wings r not

Here’s a hint for you it was probably a mobik battalion. It’s a real shame you weren’t there to get burst into giblets.
>>
>>61476754
is a rocket motor that expensive?
a paveway III is something like 50grand 300thousand is too expensive for everyone in here to still be shill it
>>
>>61477433
Paveways and JDAMs were already mature systems that were in mass production by the time AASM was developed. AASM just has smaller production runs which inflates the cost per unit because scale of production hasn't kicked in yet. Though obviously the French see the cost as worth it to maintain their own domestic weaponry.

Also the 300,000 euro number is woefully out of date, that was how much it cost when it was first adopted in 2007. They've managed to bring it down to 120,000 euros.
>>
>>61476754
The main takeaway from this thread is that weapon development should be immediately stopped and for everyone to go back to rock - rock cost nothing, therefore most cost efficient and best.
>>
>>61477433
Paveway III can’t take multiple angles of attack from below radar. That’s what you’re paying for in the REK.
>>
>>61477474
are they fire and forget

Yes

>A FAB-1500 achieves the exact same range by using a smart kit which uses glide wings and satellite guidance.
So what happens with FAB-1500 once enemy gets AMRAAM rockets and flying very high becomes dangerous?
>>
>>61477677
I wouldn’t worry about it.
>>
>>61476842
>10k per unit
yes which is why actual US budget releases state that it's 25k per, 5k for the bomb. I hate you retards so much.

>>61477053
You come here because nobody in your life wants to talk to you, don't you?

>>61477468
I hate these faggots so much, because they love to penny pinch about the costs of individual US/NATO weapons while ignoring idk the loss of entire fucking Russian armies. Did you know that running a US Armored Division for a year costs like a billion dollars? Can you imagine how much you'd lose if said division were destroyed?

Iran was seething super hard at Macron a while back, can't precisely remember why.
>>
>>61482366
Probably cuz France is directly responsible for Israel becoming untouchable and Macron is becoming to look like an imperialist(based)
>>
>>61482366
Because Macron openly said he wouldn’t change the current legislation in France, which doesn’t forbid blasphemy.
>>
>>61482814
France has the most based religion laws in existence.
While most western states are all for "freedom of religion", France chose the "freedom FROM religion" route.
