GOBLN test information is out.

tldr: XM123 Ground Obstacle Breaching Lane Neutralizer is a US Army mine and obstacle clearing system designed to maintain high optempo through minefields. A test of GOBLN was conducted in late March of 2024 at Yuma Proving Ground. The concept consists of a mine detection device and a mine neutralization device. The weapon of choice for testing is a HMMWV-mounted mortar launcher.

It's annoyingly difficult to get search engines to stop correcting it to GOBLIN.

Interesting project, but definitely not efficient during an offensive. A lot of mines can just be hidden underground or in bushes, you’d have to give your position away to fly a drone and collect information, and in cases like Ukraine, you’d need hours to clear out hundreds of mines in an area to do an offensive. However, I think it would still be pretty good as a mortar that uses AI to attack enemy positions. Lot’s of interesting military projects going on right now, which brings a smile to my face.

Is that mag fed mortar from some other program? It looks wicked.

The fun with this is it's networked. It doesn't need to just be one mortar, it can be a battery engaging each mine with no waste.

Is this the thing that cums? Why can't cluster munitions or something like that be used to clear minefields instead?

ADIM began as Vasilek. One of the few things the USA pirated from the USSR.

How does this deal with buried mines?
>>
>>61484913
Presumably thermals can pick up the temperature differences and reliably guess where the mines are.
>>
>>61484913
They show up on thermal, hyperspectral and ground-pen radar which are all modules for the drone.
>>
>>61484935
Yeah, but how do you hit underground mine with fragments?
>>
>>61485058
These are just tests with standard mortar shells. The mine-clearing shell intended to be used with this has multiple shaped charges which unfold on spars like a spider web.

ya i'm not terribly impressed, send one to Ukraine for testing if you want to impress me
