I like these SWVL mounts overbore makes a lot so far for the cloud lamps. Takes autistic cord management to give yourself JUST enough slack to make the lamp ambulatory, but taught enough to not have cord sticking out. But it’s nice for cans especially if you have a Ti one with a thick cover like I do

I don’t mind a tailcap clicky, especially on a short boi where you don’t really have the real estate for their bigass switches, that said, have you seen their brand new switches? They just started shipping with the new production REIN 3s, they’re similar but smaller because it uses a seesaw type switch instead for both on off and toggle. Takes up less space. Worth a look imo

>>
>>61490409
Right on. To be honest I never open the lens covers, I pretty much only run subs through my badger after I had an awesome squib experience with 2A warehouse supers, so I rarely shoot beyond like…. 50 feet lel. But yeah I just joined the eocuck club like last year and I’ve barely had time to shoot lately so it’s pretty green still, no pun intended, will keep an eye out for the lamination issue tho .
Compared to the XPS2, the 530 does have that slightly blueish tint you can’t escape with homosun… yet. I like optic features, that’s why I went with a 530 originally, but if I knew then what I know now, I’d have waited for a T-2, or an FDE ACRO on a riser. Actually that’s probably the route I’ll go for both my PDWs, ACRO and riser, little cheaper than T-2s, still want a T- for each of my ARs doe

Id avoid the pulsar thing entirely as it only takes rechargeable battery packs that pulsar wont support in 2 years and you will be fucked.

Really 10k is the middleground in this stuff
You can spend like 3-5k and get a non demag 640 thermal like an AGM, Yoter, etc etc.
>OR
You can spend like 10-15k on a UTC-X, Eotech CLIP-IR LR or similar higher end thermal but the 10k end on these will be an ask.

How far are you wanting to shoot? Most of the 3-5k thermals will screendoor out at ~6-8x mag and you will have to shift to pixel shooting beyond that. The proper higher end thermals with risley prisms will take 10x+ before they screendoor out.

I've shot a dedicated thermal scope before, not a clip-on. I'm assuming by "screen dooring" you mean that at a certain point of magnificent action the image is difficult to discern and I'm basically shooting at pixels that loosely resemble a target? I've noticed on some Ukrainian combat videos/hot hunting videos it seems like they're just shooting at amorphous blobs.

>>61491050
I don't think I'd ever spring for a PSA option. If I went for it I'd probably go with an LMT receiver, one of those Genesis repro uppers if I can find the right year make and then go from there. Anon the mk16 and aero atlas R1 both have inline mlok slots (or fake ass cooling slots on the aero), they will never be rigid because they have no triangles. The kekmod did the absolute best because it has the most meat between the offset and 3/6/9 rails providing a big triangle of rigidity.

Mk16 is a shit rail and continues the trend of the military shifting to junk (Sig, geisseleslop, vortex, etc).
>>61491098
Okay but if sig bad????? Then howcome military use sig everything and sig keeps winning contracts huh???
>>61491111
Essentially the display runs out of practical resolution and you end up zooming past the practical resolution of the screen resulting in a lack of additional clarity. Pixel shooting means you are nolonger gaining clarity and are just gaining precision in reference to your target. You can blow past that 6x-8x screendoor window but you wont gain any more information about the target just more precise aiming points. Think about trying to zero a red dot on a 2moa circle vs a 6moa circle.

Thats crazy we are talking about the mk16 deflection issues here anon, thats the source of the bendy bill posting. Nobody was out here saying the Mk7 was bending. But let me indulge you anyway;
The mk8 is likely not as bending since it kicks out into a cross shape which adds significantly more meat than the mk16.

Depends entirely on the scissor jack you are using
Your OEM one will likely run out of travel by the time you put on good shocks and tires. If you insist on using the OEM jack get a big thick 2x6 section for an offroad baseplate at a minimum
>But A2 I can use logs I found in the woods
Yeah go find a flat/level log that is still alive.
>But rocks
Fuck off
>Farm jack dangerous
Farmjack issues happen if you dont know how to use them or are lifting on soft/slippery ground without a baseplate. Once again you can use a section of 2x6 or buy a purpose built baseplate. To avoid the arm breaker arc you need only read instructions and watch youtube videos. Larger issue with farmjack is that they cant reach your frame rails so unless you have structural rock sliders or bumpers you wont be doing anything but bending your body with them. They are a very powerful tool but you must respect them.
>What are my other options?
Surplus humvee jack off ebay for $100 + agile offroad frame rail adapter is a shitload of travel and weight capacity. Functions identical to your OEM sicssor jack but is built to lift big humvees in all sorts of terrain. Value is good but they are a bit bog for storage.
Pro eagle (or harbor freight) makes a deicated offroad floorjack. Basically a shop jack with big wheels and more travel. You can sort of just carry a floorjack and lift the fucker around like a chad if you dont mind but the travel becomes an issue on lifted rigs.
Ye olde bottlejack can help in some situations but once again you want that 2x6 for baseplate on that because if there is any angle on it you will tip off the bottlejack
>What does A2 use?
In my landcruiser ive got a 20 ton bottle jack, humvee jack and 60" hilift jack. Right tool for right situation and the LC sits with 6" of lift on 38s so the OG jack wouldnt come close
For daily landrovers ive got 12 ton bottle jacks for changing spare tires onnaroad

Thermal documentation is very poor. Even just knowing what you have learned ITT puts you like 10 steps ahead of most people , its bad.
Id suggest you grab a used budget or new budget 640 thermal in that 3-5k range and learn if its enough for you. All of the modern iray sensor cored units are going to meet your detection and clarity standards assuming you start at 35mm and ideally are closer to 50mm with objective sizes. Ive only taken my yoter out to 600m on the mk12 but its very sweet at that distance. Just looking at shit with it vs shooting im picking up cows and people at 2km, aircraft at ??????, etc so dont worry about performance end of things on these cheaper units.

I should also be super clear, humvee jack without the agile frame rail adapter is borderline useless. It has a tubular end section designed to fit in the frame jack points on a humvee, it will just slip off your frame or you will put it in some drain hole and rape your frame on accident. Dont even put that shit in the car until you have said adapter for it.

Yoter-R is a rifle scope, Yoter-C is a clipon. Im a fan of them because they can take the Larue LT881 QD mount. Cheaper thermals suffer from chinesium QD mounts largely, some can take ADM but we all know my opinion there. Downside of yoters is the instructions are non existent and the menus can be a bit chinky. Solution for that is to just ask me ITT should you decide to buy one.
>Durability
Housings on most of these are going to be ABS polymer with aluminum portions. Yoter specifically is an alum lens in the rear bolted through a polymer mid section and into an alum front lens section. I havent tried to throw mine down flights of stairs but ive been jumping in and out of truckbeds with it for 2 or 3 years at this point and it holds up. The cores are rated to thousands of Gs so if you treat it with the same respect as a PVS14 you will be conservative in terms of durability. If you slam your rifle into something hard enough to break decently setup ABS you will probably break it and other things. Some iray units have rubberized covers/bodies which help with impacts. Where you need to be careful with durability is the L3 units made out of shitty polymer and prehistoric UTC-X where you can ding the objective shroud.

I too, am a redneck, but your recovery kit should progress as you age. You can get a really good example for like $60. If you're keeping a ball hitch installed at all times, you are ruining your departure angle anyway. If you take the time to install it, why not have the proper piece of equipment to install instead? It just doesn't make sense to use the most dangerous method just because "nothing bad has happened yet"

I hate money. I think also I’m legitimately autistic at least to a degree. Family lineage on both moms and dads side is German and Swedish/norse too so I like German shit in general, BMWs, HKs, blah blah. Fuck Mercedes though. Lewis Hamilton needs to have a fuel tank rupture and blow at the Vegas race. As far as why I chose an MR762, I just like HK shit. Fell in love with it after I got my first USP and got a match trigger. Honestly if I could have both I could, I’d like an SR-25 as well. Hell, At some point I would like to get a Nemo omen! For now I just wanna build a clone correct G28 by myself as much as possible and outsource the coatings and shit to Black Ops Defense. Should look and perform pretty close if not better than the real thing afterwards. Idk where the fuck I’m gonna find the T-1 and scope rings though, prolly gonna have to compromise on that part. I’m already getting a different Schmidt & Bender scope than the G28 one cuz it’s $5k instead of $10k for one that says “HK” on the side. So I get the expense issue of foreign shit to some degree as well. I love KAC shit, I love LWRC REPRs, I’d buy em all if I could buddy. I don’t discriminate. Just a soft spot for the Teutonic is all.

RAL8000 really takes some getting used to, I used to hate it. As I bought more and more guns with variance in their anodization, I became less and less concerned with it, and even began to appreciate it. Now I actually seek it out, adds character and uniqueness to a rifle. It’s really not much different than some dildo doing a shitty rattlecan job on their rifle and being all proud of how unique it is, I guess except one actually serves a purpose so meh. It looks a lot more uniform when the upper is duracoated and the lower is RAL8000 cerakoted. But yeah the peanut butter takes some getting used to, but I fuckin love it now.
