NGAD speculation thread

What will it look like? Will it even be manned? Questions abound
>>
>>61492826
Who was is that basically said "The last of the future fighter pilots have already been born" ?
6 gen is going to be a drone wrangler

We already saw it

lol no, those aren't even close to what NGAD will be
>>
>>61492826
Only one question, is it gonna have phaser cannons or will it be big enough for that sweet sweet phaser array
>>
>>61492847
Personally I think ngad is gonna be super advanced drones that work along side aircraft. Like a swarm type deal
>>
>>61492826
>size of a hummingbird on radar
>able to paint targets in real time for BVR missile batteries to launch autonomously.
>will be named the X-36 "Slick Dick" after our favorite president John F Kennedy
>women love him, men want to be him
>will be able to direct cruise missiles from 1,000 miles away
>will have an unmanned wingman for picking up fat chicks at the bar

NGAD is not going to be smaller than an X-47.
>>
>>61492924
>hummingbird
Kind of a downgrade since the F-35 is already a bumblebee
>>
>>61492940
>>61492947
These are based on a silhouette that LM posted on their instagram, you can see the original in the corner of the first one I posted.

>>61492955
>>61492960
Pretty sure these ones are almost 100% speculation, but I don't remember.
>>
>>61492966
It is like 20 feet longer and wider.
>>
I don’t know what it will look like, but I know it will be operational 10 years before GCAP comes out and (DIVIDEbyZEROerror) years before FCAS
>>
>>61492981
lol
>>
>>61492966
What's the RCS of B-2? B-21?
>>
>>61493050
Numbers varry but a lot of what i see puts it at F-22 or better levels which is .0001m2
>>
>>61492859
aren't these drones? also the stelth drones uk was working on has already been seen but it's talked about like it's classified
>>
Why do all prospective NGAD designs look like triangles or dildos? Why is no one speculating that they look more like the Raptor or Lightning 2? Is it because those wonky triangle and diamond shapes look more futuristic than a normal jet?
>>
>>61494979
The US has been working towards a fighter without vertical stabilizers for awhile, they've had various experimental airframe projects that have been hinting this way for awhile, NGAD and F/X-XX are just the first fighters that have the budget and real desire to push for the ultimate stealth.

Also everything we have heard publicly (which isn't much) points to that design as well.
>>
>>61495006
Which is hilarious considering Chinese have a shield that does stealth better and radar that can detect this sort of stealth easily.
>>
>>61492826
The NGAD will be an ominous hovering chrome sphere. Manning will be optional.

You deserve to watch your mother be raped by a pack of niggers. I hate you. You're the type of mother fucker to lap up Elon Musk clickbait videos and then share them unironically.
>>
>>61492826
I’ve been checking on news for this at least once a week now for a year. I just want to see the final design and at least know the name chosen for it. I assume it will be the F-24, but what name would be best for it? Lightning II was dumb as fuck so hopefully it’s better named
>>
>>61492826
Shame they're still being piloted by humans.
I'm sure there will be some midlife update to AI/Remote driven. Forego the cockpit and go full sleek top.

It will look like this
>>
>>61492826
I want to see the NGAD be this drone-quarterback data fusion ultra low observable platform and the FA-XX be a manned hypersonic son of tomcat 'idgaf about my RCS it's kinematically impossible to intercept me' platform.
>>
>>61492826
>optionally manned
>xboxhueg tailless dorito, optimized for maximizing both stealth and endurance/payload
>twin engined
They may be able to get away with 2D thrust vectoring without compromising stealth but I doubt they would bother.
>COFFIN-like virtual cockpit without a glass canopy (unlikely based on concept images and models released by LM)
>directed energy weapon(s) integrated into airframe, capable of firing at nearly all angles and used as both a point defense and offensive weapon
>avionics equal to or greater than dedicated recon, AWACS, and electronic warfare platforms and all in one
>armed with AIM-260 and capable of carrying hypersonic cruise missiles and other large munitions within IWB
>primarily used as drone coordination and support platform
>over 1000 nm combat radius
>size of a speck of dust on radar
>active camo/optical stealth
unknown exactly what this entails, could be anything from simply yehudi lights to metamaterial-based near invisibility

The drone component will be a fairly small aircraft with even greater stealth capabilities on account of its size and being unmanned. They likely will share many of the capabilities of the manned component.

How will that compare to Su-75 Checkmate?
>>
>>61497918
The Su-75 checkmate won't ever be produced in meaningful numbers and could very likely not end up being built at all. It's also a cheap knockoff of the F-35 with woefully inferior tech so it's not going to be anywhere near a 6th gen aircraft.
>>
>>61497944
So why is it called Checkmate if it is going to get checkmated by NGAD?
>>
>>61497951
Because that's the word the random name generator that some intel nerd at NATO used came up with
>>
>>61497955
In this case, it’s not a NATO name, but Russian-chosen one. It doesn’t even begin with F.
>>
>>61497972
Good point. Just vatnigger cope then. I hope if there is ever a new Mig it is called the Migger.
>>
>>61497918
The Su-75, if it even gets made into a real plane, will be a glorified 4.5 gen at best.
>limited to stealth capabilities, but still likely better than the Su-57 on account of DSI, S ducted intake, and better shaping than the Felon
>3D thrust vectoring, not that it would matter that much anyway
>worse avionics than American 5th gen and updated 4th gens, considering Russia can't even bring its all of its Flanker fleet up to speed
>probably the exact same weapons Russia has today with some compatibility with Indian and Chinese weapons and equipment
>internal weapon stores greater than the F-35
>"virtual cockpit", actually just a dressed up version of the current Russian HMD
The Su-75 was 20 years too late when it was announced, let alone how long it'll be when it will enter service. Sukhoi's last dying breath.
>>
>>61492826
>What will it look like?
Less cool than you'd want, but still cooler than dumb-dumbs on the internet will say
>>
>>61492826
It'll still be manned because there's no way the old men in charge of the Air Force will allow drones to take over from pilots.
>>
>>61492882
You're an idiot then. NGAD is going to be the mothership responsible for wrangling a bunch of drone Loyal Wingman systems, but will be manned.
