If you need to shoot fast followup shots and fast shots at multiple targets you will be faster with a 9mm, or other light recoil guns/cartridges. Missing the target with full power 10mm is a miss while hitting with 9mm is a hit. You may also suffer from flinching if you are recoil intolerant. You really should shoot a variety of pistols with various ammo for each to see which combo fits your hand, ability, and which one you shoot the best. If you are just buying it for fun then sure go ahead. The 10mm ammo is also more expensive. If you buy say a 9mm the ammo is cheaper, they still make +p for it, and you can practice a lot more and being a good shooter is more important than 'muh stopp'n powuh.'

Its solid and hits hard. Lots of the commercial ammo is garbage, but luckily its easy to reload and there are some good semi-boutique manufacturers who make use of the full case.
