Was thinking more like pic. The triangle shaped handle helps a fuck ton with digging, the jabby haft of the cold steel does not. Most e-tools can convert into a hoe of some sort too so you can scrape as well as dig.

can you imagine, for a second, being Ron Goldman? You're banging the ultimate 10/10 square jawed blonde white poonani. You're stealing it from a goddamn professional athlete. You're actually kind of a loser, you're basically just Joey from friends, but like Joey you can still sling dick in spite of your circumstances. You're a Jew but you have the looks and the cock of an Italian. Your life is amazing right now, crazy, beautiful, you're in Nicole's gorgeous house, holy shit you're going to get laid tonight, you're going to blast ropes in this bombshell and cuck OJ fucking Simpson.

and then he shows up. the Juice is Loose. he sneaks up on you and holds you still with the knife. you freeze, unsure what the fuck is going on. he pokes your cheeks with it. sadistically, he prods you and draws blood, tears your cheeks up, again and again, taunting you. in that moment you realize the truth. you realize he's here to kill you.

you fight back. you take off his glove as you take his hand off of you. you're strong. you were always strong. you're a 3rd degree black belt. sure OJ is an incredible athlete; but what has he studied? just how to catch balls. you've studied how to fight.

so you try to fight. but they didn't train you much for this. there isn't a lot of stuff about dealing with knives. let alone live exercises about dealing with knives. oh. you can't block it. oh. your hands are being destroyed. your arms are being destroyed. like in a dream, your attempts to fight are useless. training since 12 years old but all it can do is delay the inevitable. you try to escape but all you find are fences. Nicole is dead. you're stabbed in the abdominal artery. the blood pours out from your body and drenches your jeans. you slump to the ground in a seated position. you die, at least, like a warrior.

Anyone have any recommendations on a sub 60$ wharncliffe style folder. Preferably something that is assisted with a framelock. I know some people don’t like assisted for self defense but it’s not a problem for me. I don’t use /k/ very much so sorry if this question has been asked I’m kinda new to knifes

Kershaw Leek, Kershaw Deadline, KABAR Jarosz

None of these are really designs I would want to use in a fight for my life, but you do you king
>>
>>61537879
Leek is pretty much exactly what you're asking for.
>>
>>61537915
I’ve looked at the leek before and it looks too slippery I want something with g10. The deadline looks like it has ok texture but not really want I’m looking for. The k bar isn’t legal for me to conceal carry sadly

Oh thank you yeah that one looks pretty good I like the g 10 it’s very easy to hold onto. It’s a shame about the leek I know a lot of people like those but it also looks like it would be real easy to have your hand slip into the blade if you needed to use it
>>
>>61538788
Eh I’m looking at a review for it and I don’t like the tip the angle doesn’t look good for thrusting like I’ve seen on other wharncliffes I guess the search continues thanks for the recommendations tho

Which knives would you buy if money wasn't an issue? What would you use them for?
>>
>>61541967
If money wasn't an issue then i'd live somewhere i could own all knives of all types and i'd get swords and a bunch of microtech automatics
>>
>>61541967
among other things, a Stefan Steigerwald model Assist. neat custom folder, it's got a switch where you can turn the assist mechanism on and off. but costs like 3k so not a reasonable purchase for me, that's almost a month's salary before taxes.
also I'd buy a house with a workshop and the means to make knives myself (as well as take training to learn how to use milling machines etc.). I do have an engineering background but pretty much only the CAD side of things.

Hello, /k/.

This is my first post here. What should I look for in a knife/knives? I'm not sure where to begin. Something good for an every day carry and for camping/hiking/bushcraft, if such a thing exists.

About the only thing I know is that it's good to have the metal/blade part of the knife extend all the way to the end of the handle, as opposed to having "two separate halves." Not sure if I'm explaining that very well.

Thanks very much.

>Something good for an every day carry and for camping/hiking/bushcraft, if such a thing exists
Unless you can feasibly carry around a 5"+ fixed blade day to day, you're not going to find one knife that fits all those criteria.
>>
Stroup knives - generally good or?

just want a "primitive" looking kind of fixed blade for general use, 3-4" blade, would like a little nicer steel than 1095, but oh well.

Good point, and I'm embarrassed for no thinking about that as I typed my post. I'd be grateful for recommendations on either or both.
>>
>>61545990
A basic mora could very well be enough for your basic camping and bushcrafting needs with you aren't too rough with it

For every day carry i recommend something with a wharncliffe or a drop point blade, generally

there's several Byrd models that have wharncliffe variants. (Byrd is the budget line of Spyderco) . all are available in plain edge and fully serrated versions. In order from largest to smallest: Cara Cara 2 (pic related), Harrier 2, Meadowlark 2, Robin 2.
all have this textured frn handle. not sure if the wharncliffe variants are available in G10. either way it's quite grippy.

I decided to just get something else. I ordered a kershaw 4kxl because it has the wave feature and it’s a big ass spearpoint. Tho now I kinda wish I got the 7k instead because the tanto is very aesthetic. I’ll probably look into these things next month thank you I appreciate it. I really want a yojimbo 2 but they are like 200$ which is way too much.

>>61555778
How do you like the wave feature? I’m a bit worried there might be some potential to cut myself when deploying the knife.
>>61557173
I’m a neet so even that is expensive I’d have to save up for a few months and at that point I’d just get the better steel one day tho. I think I’m gonna end up spending way too much money with this new little hobby.

I've never been in a situation where I had to save up for months for something $200, but I understand. also M4 is the better steel in many regards actually, its main downside compared to S30V is that it's not stainless.
