If it locks back then you know it has enough velocity so can try a heavier buffer or spring. Mine has a sionics NP3 BCG in it now, but when I first got the complete upper from delton it came with an "AR-15" aka semi-auto BCG; which weighs slightly less and cycles more reliably in theory.
