At the end of the day I don’t care either way. I have both mid length and carbine length on 14.5s and I don’t notice any difference in felt recoil nor do I notice any difference in cycling. Get whichever one soothes your autism because it probably doesn’t actually matter.

Same thing is happening on my RCH 17 and new NRCH 16. If I get it juuuuuust perfect, I get a second stage and the gun reliably stays cocked when doing that, but any off and it doesn't. And the second stage doesn't feel as nice as it does when I loosen it a bit further.If I'm close to where the second stage comes in, it very rarely has the hammer go down when running the action. And never when releasing the bolt from the bolt catch. But if I actually follow the instructions and loosen it a full turn from when it starts to get a second stage, it does it every time.
