getting an aimpoint t2 for my first 1x only ar, but im not sure what mount height to go with. right now I am looking at lower 1/3, 1.93, and 2.26.I have been using an lpvo that sits at 1.54 so 1/3 would be more familiar to me, but I am also interested in trying out taller mounts, mainly for the neutral head position when shooting standing. I do plan to get nvgs, but that wont be for a while, and the only other reason I can think of to get a taller mount is for a ftc magnifier, which will also probably take a while for me to get. part of the reason I am still considering staying to the lower 1/3 height is due to the disadvantages of the taller mounts such as your head position when shooting prone, cheek weld, and allegedly worsened ability to manage recoil due to not being able to lock the stock in your shoulder with a harder cheek weld. one of the things I am looking for in my new gun setup is to train in competition style shooting, so that last part does make it less appealing to me, although based off of my own assumptions it seems like that the difference in recoil management from having your cheek weld moved up for a 1.93 or 2.26 could not be that substantial. as for the actual mounts im considering buying, for the 1/3 it is an lt660, and for the 2.26 a unity. I have been considering a 1.93 because it seems like it would be a good comprimise between the two, but all of the mounts I have seen at that height look somewhat ugly, but it might be worth it anyways.tldr: i am thinking about buying a high optic mount despite not having night vision
