We are the most powerful military force in the history of man. Every fight is our fight. Because what happens over here, matters over there. We don't get to sit one out. Learning to use the tools of modern warfare is the difference between the prospering of your people, and utter destruction. We can't give you freedom. But we can give you the know-how to acquire it. And that, my friends, is worth more than a whole army base of steel. Sure it matters who's got the biggest dick, but it matters a helluva lot more who's swinging it. This is a time for heroes. A time for legends. History is written by the victors. Let's get to work.

Reposting for visibility

Get experience with drones now instead of waiting. Make yourself useful. Vanya Vatnik and Chinky Chang are learning how to pilot these things, so now it's your turn.

Reposting my question from the last thread:
Do I have to do Cortramid or NSI before attending Navy ROTC?
>>
>>64501204
Yes
>>
>>64501204
No. You do it in the summers between school years.
>>
>>64501204
Does it matter? Like, will this influence whether or not you go through NROTC?
>>
Is it a good or bad time to enlist generally speaking?
>>
>>64501274
Depends on your motivation. Bad time if you want to fuck shit up in the desert but good time if you want to get some job experience and minimize your cost of living and cost of higher education.

What MOS does this song represent? Some job that can give me mesothelioma and you can't brag about post enlistment.
>>
>>64501232
No, not at all, I'm already set on doing it. I was just curious, because there's a lot of conflicting information about it on the net. Like over here there's a mention of someone who didn't do either, but still got commissioned:
https://www.serviceacademyforums.com/index.php?threads/no-weapons-training.96450/
>>
>>64501274
Do you not know what to do with your life? If so, enlisting puts a person over you at all times to tell you what to do.

Do you know you want a degree and generally what you want to do? If so, commission and you’ll have slightly more autonomy.

The big difference, at least for the Marine Corps, is slightly higher quality of life at sea and generally not having to deal with as many assholes.

Both are good options but you need to perform and work towards your own career goals if you want to succeed on either side of the divide.

Anyone here applied to be a (non-flight) warrant officer? Any tips for building my packet?
>>
>>64501274
Average. There are no wars and despite posturing, starting an actual ground war would be political suicide.
The benefits are pretty good though. I enlisted with a degree and have 3 hot meals and a roof above my head most of the time. And I'll have a VA home loan and GI bill if I wanna go to school again. Being an officer just didn't interest me.
There came a point in my life when I realized I wasn't special and living in denial of that was leading me down a bad path. So I joined and I don't regret it.

Any Marines out there?
How the fuck do y'all do the runs? They want a 3 mile in 24:00. I am out there running my ass off and I can't break 9 minutes despite taking everyone's and prior Marine's advice. Proper techniques, breathing, fartlek, etc....I know college athlete chads that can't even do an 8 minute mile.
>inb4 fatfuck
I am a legit gym trainer.
>>
>>64501808
Well it's obviously possible since they are all doing it. Are you doing strength training for your legs?
>>
>>64501814
Yep. Leg day, stretches before the run, in door cardio, HIIT etc...
>>
>>64501808
>I am a legit gym trainer.
From some obese shithole
>>
>>64501808
I ran 18:00-18:20 the entire time I was in some 4 years ago now. Just run in your free time. Maintain your physicality. When you’re near the finish line haul ass. Smoke beforehand, opens the airways. I always did that and never had an issue.
>>
>>64501829
Go project somewhere else, fairy
>>64501856
My goal is 20:00 right now. My method now is...start off a decent jog for about 40 yards, then really start pushing until fatigue. A very short 10 second power walk, then hard again. Interesting you mentioned smoking. I've heard that a lot lately. Perhaps I should give that a try. Like one cigarette before. It's worth a shot.

The grimmest of scenarios
>>

I know a fag who was involuntarily recalled back into active duty. That is a worse scenario because he had an actual plan.
>>
Does anyone here have experience with the medboard process? I'm active duty army and my PCM recently put me in for a medboard. For my back/hip injury, I was told there are no further procedures that can be done to help it. I am getting surgery for my knee. The PCM said the knee surgery might cause them to hold off on the medboard. I'm supposed to recieve a phone call about it in a couple weeks. Would they delay it for knee surgery if there is nothing that can be done for my hip? How long do they wait?

I never smoked prior to joining myself, we all tend to pick a vice while in. Some smoking. Some drinking. Others… well, ain’t getting into that. Least you have an approach. Only way to get better at it is to do it. Simple as. If you want it, you’ll get it, man. Trust. Oh, regulate breathing throughout. In the nose out the mouth or just go full retard breathing through the mouth. Think it’s all mental, don’t pay so much attention to others. I kept my mind on the scenery plus not being too ahead or too far behind. About all I could pass on knowledge wise to you. Good luck.

>My method now is...start off a decent jog for about 40 yards, then really start pushing until fatigue. A very short 10 second power walk, then hard again
That's dumb as fuck. Try running at a pace you can actually maintain for 3 miles instead of this silly shit.
>>
>>64501909
Cheers!
>>
Why people here advise so hard against joining the French Foreign Legion?
>>
>>64501984
No one does. US military has more rape and on-base murder, the ones who claim FFL has more criminals has never posted a single statistic.
>>
>>64501985
Bruh, I just want to be a soldier and have a decent payment (equal or above 1500 euros)
>>
I’m looking to switch from active duty army to national guard and also reclassing, can anyone tell me anything about 17E?
I am currently infantry, but I want to do some more nerdy stuff
I’m also looking to go to school for some sort of STEM thing, so they go together
I was also looking at 35F, but I’m worried all I would be doing is sitting making powerpoints
>>
>>64501808
What's holding you back? Is it your muscles, energy, breathing, or what? I struggled at running for a long time (but I was just in the Air Force so it was whatever). Then one day my friend told me coughing and wheezing after running is a sign of asthma, so I went to medical, they did some tests and [long story omitted] said I might have asthma. So they prescribed me inhalers and my run times instantly went from barely passing to mediocre and I no longer felt like dying afterward lmfao.
I think that's a pretty niche case though, and asthma is pretty disqualifying, so I wouldn't bother getting tested for it before joining even if you think you have it.

>>64501877
>>64501880
I never want to go active duty again, even if they offer to commission me, but I regret not trying out the Guard or Reserve. When I was separating I was like fuck it I'm going straight civilian, I'll just talk to a recruiter later if I change my mind. And then I did talk to a recruiter, and it turns out medical standards for prior service are based off initial entry standards, not retention. So while I'm not 100% don't-call-back-again medically disqualified (the above section heavily related), getting medically cleared would be a very uphill battle for something I'm not totally set on in the first place.
So yeah, I fucked up there. Sometimes I wonder if I'll get IRR recalled and get a second chance to Palace Front. lol

Anyone here knows of a police (UK) recruitment fourms or general?
Looked for one myself, nothing on 4chan, reddit is mediocre at advice at best and dedicated forums have years between activity.
>>
>>64501876
So instead of that do 2-3 miles at a 9 minute pace, its not a sprint, if you want an idea of the speed get on a treadmill and gmess with the speed to find the actual pace
>>
>>64501984
It's way shittier than just joining the US military or your country's regular armed forces. Surrounded by Africans, your NCOs literally beat you, shitty "deployments" to dusty armpits in Africa, and not worth it if you don't already speak French.
>>
>>64501984
If you're going to ignore advice from numerous people, just go ahead and do it instead of searching for someone to agree with the decision you want to make.
>>
>>64502645
I mean, the reasons. People here often tell to never join the legion but never said the reason.

>>64502601
This, thanks.
>>

>If you want to fight in a war, you can literally fly to Ukraine right now and join. Looking forward to hearing your excuses
