Made some progress the other day. The past weekend the HSL reman 150gr supers were getting super consistent failures to feed. The weekend before that the gun show 100rnds of Magtech 123gr supers flawless in the exact same configuration, so that seemed to indicate some kind of ammunition dependent feeding issue. Decided to measure some cartridge overall lengths:Wolf 145gr supersN=102.1356" mean0.0045" std devHSL 150gr supersN=102.1136" mean0.066" std devMagtech 200gr subs N=102.1503" mean0.0056" std devOkay so ~30-40 thou difference, could contribute, but more likely IMO is that the meplat bullet tip of the HSL 150gr supers is super round and flat while the meplat of the Magtech 123gr and a lot of other 300blk is sharp and pointy. Way more sharp and pointy (elbows) than the pulled M80 bullets that these cheap reman bullets use. So decided to try to switch ammo up. Similarly, the gun did 125rnds with no failures to return to battery when using the brass cased subs, and the failures to return to battery yesterday were isolated to the steel cased wolf... once again indicating ammunition pickiness.

But good progress overall. Gun definitely seems ammo picky, but that is completely reasonable given the lack of reciprocating mass and the more narrow reliability envelope. I've heard similar from SEVERAL owners of Q Honey Badger guns which while not identical, are similar. Sprung just on the bleeding edge of reliability. Good news is the WAR valve is definitely working. It consistently takes atrociously punchy (like fuck is this going to break the gun) recoil to just normal 300blk supers recoil, all while with the current gas port and Superlative Arms adjustable block setting and suppressor on the WAR full gas setting I've experienced actually VERY good reliability now at this point, easily 400 rounds without any malfunctions at all on the current iteration of the build. Interestingly the WOLF 145gr supers had a weird behavior where they kept locking the action back all the way down to restrict setting on the SA Block of 3/4 out of 18 (0 closed, 18 full open), and most odd was that the recoil impulse really didn't change at all. I experienced similar actually in a friend's 300blk DOE with my Bootleg carrier installed. Comparatively, with almost all of the brass cased supers I've messed with, adjusting the SA gas block definitely changes recoil impulse, and when you restrict to settings 7/8-13/14 or so it fails to lock back vs restrict 3/4 with the Wolf. Just weird. But good progress. Ordered 150rnds of Magtech 200grs subs since gun is running very well with those, and ordered 200rnds of 123gr Magtech supers since 2 weekends ago gun ate that flawlessly, so going to try that again. Also making moves towards next version of build. Need to identify an upper receiver to use to install homemade WAR valve assy in, and find a good chrome lined barrel. Anyone got any good pics of the KAC PDW? Anyone got any recommendations for a slick side (no forward assist, but dust cover) AR upper receiver? >>64853312He does it for free!

Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri surprisingly wholesome and a fun nigger-word bit. Unfortunately cannot recommend to arg because it's not /k/ at all and depicts a black detective in a positive light and the racist bumpkin redeems himself. Arg would probably not like the quote about all a real detective needing is love, and how love gives you calm. But that was a cool scene and I liked the sheriff character. When I was fucking around with my foldy 300 dead nigger storage build the FIRST thing I did was buy good ammo instead of wasting reman 150 trash range ammo trying to diagnose any problems considering no one seriously uses 147-150 gr fmj loads in 300 blackout.
Is it ok to swap bolts between rifles as long as it passes the go/nogo gauge check? Any problems that could arise?
