They are just a tool funded by the right as a way to drive a wedge into the LGBT community. Literal psyop COINTELPRO stuff. There is nothing organic amount them and the extremely low level of support their views have in the community reflects that.
The only real damage they can really do is act as a way for bigots to attempt to deflect criticism by supporting them. Something that itself can be countered by having the likes of the SPLC listing them as the hate group that they are.

As long as they are never allowed in or failing that, allowed to feel safe in queer spaces. They will never be a real issue.

For example the LGB-alliance is famously anti-gay marriage. This is so that anti-gay marriage bigots can point to them and say that their position is not actually bigoted and is supported by actual gay/bi groups.
