I want to just hang out with someone close again and be cozy but I'm 30 now.

Everyone's got kids or some other thing going on and I don't have a friend group anymore since I was a teenager. I just sit on my computer after work now. It doesn't feel good anymore.
>>
Right? I just wasted 3 hours after to work with nothing to show for it.
>>
Weird, I meant to post this on /adv/ but I'll talk here too.
>>35508718
There's nothing but bullshit on this computer really. I just watch YouTube and porn. I wish I could actually make something, but I don't think I have that capability.
>>
>>35508701
I am the same, but I enjoy playing vidya and chilling, or chatting with friends. Why do you feel that way?
>>
>>35508917
I think I just miss openly talking with people. The world feels so disingenuous now. I just wanna talk I think. Or maybe I am wrong and need to see a therapist or something. Or maybe I want sex. Idk, I just want to do something different than coming back home to YouTube.
>>
>>35509055
We can talk if you want.
>>
>>35509092
Well we're talking right now bud. Anything nice happening in your life?
>>
>>35509144
My family is visiting me, but they are going to leave soon. Work was a mix today, the morning was really awful, and I couldn't join a meeting because the PC broke. But the afternoon was fine, I worked pretty effectively, finished some of my work, and it felt really nice.

How was your day?
>>
>>35508701
I feel this
All my 30+ friends are either married or depressed losers but like, just bc you get older doesn't mean you suddenly don't want to do out and socialize. I think as we get older more people become jaded tv addicts but over time i feel like the people who still want to socialize and have a life will hopefully gravitate towards each other cause i work at bars and see older groups all the time i think early 30s is just an awkward stage and people need to get over themselves
>>
>>35509172
Uneventful. Mostly just replying to emails. I'm using chatgpt now for very wordy emails. I feel guilty about it sometimes, but I think other people are doing the same thing. I should probably make some of them more personal though.
What broke on your PC though. You dropped it?
>>35509201
You have a point. I like the idea of bars, but I have a feeling alcohol will turn into a problem for me.
>>
>>35509259
The work PC has Ubuntu. Yesterday, I had a training session and had to download a program. It apparently fucked up some permissions of some files. So today, some programs didn't start at all. I click on it, and it just hangs, with no errors or anything. So I couldn't join the meeting. It took me about 2-3 hours to find out that the training program was the one that messed up the PC.

>inb4 IT or code monkey
Nope, lol.

Why do you feel guilty? A lot of people use chatgpt. I still don't, though, I prefer to write my own e-mails, reports, and papers. I only use Grammarly for spell check.

What is your job about?
>>
>>35509259
I mean you don't have to drink I'm just using it as an example if older people going out and doing things. Idk it's weird i feel like a lot of people think only people under 30 are allowed to have friends and be social lol
>>
>>35509293
I basically work as an assistant in HR. It's not bad, but I don't plan in doing this for long. What's yours about.
>>
>>35509360
I am a "research scientist". IDK if I am planning to do this for long or not. I am just going with the flow now. What do HRs do in general? I was always curious. There have to be some really nice-looking girls over there.
>>
>>35509377
Basically a bunch of compliance stuff for the government and babysit the employees. Diffuse any arguments etc. Hand out health insurance related stuff. Etc. It's not really that fun.
Women there are all over 50. I'm a dude though, so I guess it doesn't matter that much to me. Older women are nice sometimes.
>>
>>35509360
>>35509377
Also curious about HR. For some reason, this seemed like a reasonable career change for someone with my skillset (communications; copywriting), but naturally articles online about entering the field are sorta shallow...
>>
>>35509419
There is an HR dept. close to my cubicles. There are pretty nice-looking girls there. My dept. is all men because we are engineers, lol. I don't mind it because I am slightly bicurious and have AGP tendencies, but most engineer guys actually look horrible, don't dress well, etc.
>>
>>35509474
It's gatekept by older gen xers, but think of your typical middle manager but a bit more manipulative. Be ready for endless paperwork and silly bullshit from employees trying to play office politics for a raise or something. They often try to spread rumors through hr.
>>35509581
Did you try talking to them? Or do you lean more toward guys?
>>
>>35509636
No, I am cool at work. Most girls are married, I think. I have never done anything with a guy but fantasize about it a lot. My curiosity about men is a bit complicated. I don't know if I like men or just the thought of dicks and sex. I dated a lot of girls, too, though. I am just a grown-up retard I think.
>>
I guess Mr. Lonely man is bored of us...
>>
>>35508701
im 26 and i already feel this way. my only friends my age are people on discord
>>
>>35509762
>grown up retard
I've said this about myself in a number of ways before. I relate. I tried with women but that's a pipe dream at this point. Might just try guys now. I should download grindr just to see what happens.
>>35509992
I microwaved leftovers. Chicken, tomatoes and rice. Not good at all, but edible.
>>35510019
I'm starting think it's just the times we live in. I don't know what the solution is.
>>
>>35510095
Why would women be a pipe dream? You can for sure find someone. I am not the best-looking guy, but even I can find girls every now and then.

I sometimes get really bored of relationships, though. I think I really like the flirting phase, but then I lose interest once I start to become bf-gf, etc properly. Another reason why I don't really like men is that most men just want sex.
>>
>>35510137
Women make me nervous ig.
>>
>>35510268
You have to be more specific, though.
>>
>>35510350
It feels like every interaction with them is judgement day. When I talk to them, they give the "I'm not pleased" expression. The last pleasant interaction with a woman I had was middle school (not counting my mom of course). A girl said I had a nice voice. I'm not sure what she meant but I said thanks.
>>
>>35510422
If she liked your voice, this would be pretty nice. Girls really like this "voice" thing. I've been asked by some girls to read them stories before they go to sleep. It was both weird and nice.

It is okay to be rejected, I got rejected countless times too, it is more about persistence. There is that 1 weirdo girl who will love you and all your antics, you just need to find her. I am not even memeing btw.

Weirdo girl, weirdo guy. Well see how it goes. Anyway, thanks a lot for talking to me. I hope I was worth the chat. Kinda amusing that we spoke in a public thread and no other anons broke up our chat. If this thread is up tomorrow maybe I will say hi again :)
>>
>>35510562
Yeah, sure, anytime you want. This board feels a bit dead in general.
>>
>>35510449
This is not bad advice. It's good to find someone who appreciates your eccentricities, whether they share them or not.
>>35509636
That sounds unfortunately petty of the employees, but I guess, what was I expecting? Does it require any kind of special background, or can one just try and dive in, maybe at a smaller company?
>>
>>35510618
>This is not bad advice. It's good to find someone who appreciates your eccentricities, whether they share them or not.
Thanks, I guess. One of my exes knew my crossdressing and occasional feminine weirdness, she wasn't into it, but she never judged me either. I just never did those around her, though.

Maybe my next will be different; who knows?
