What’s the likelihood that my T test was fucked up somehow? I did a blood test 3 months ago and my T was 1 ng/dl. That’s pretty low and made me feel like shit so I dropped the spiro i was on (it was 200mg spiro + 2mg Cypro for reference.) A few days ago I did another test and got the same T result. My regimen is 8mg sublingual E and 2mg cypro, surely it can’t be the 2mg cypro suppressing my T this much? Is there any way to increase T without going off HRT? I can’t drop the cypro because that’s just what’s in my E pills.
>>
>>35645911
When are you drawing your levels? At trough right? Spiro has a negligible effect on T levels, retarded docs who read guidlines think it does, its main benefit is blocking the action of T that is there.

What are your E levels like? You can probably just reduce your dose since you have literally zeroed out your T.

>>
>>35645999
I’m at 180pg/ml E (8mg E) My last blood test (when I was on 6mg E) I was at 113pg/ml E. Issue with reducing dose is that I felt super lethargic on 6mg and kinda feel better now (maybe due to multivitamins?) so I’m not sure it’s a good idea.
>>
>>35645729
i got my blood work done recently. currently being hondosed on 2mg estradiol orally and 100mg of spiro orally a day. i see my endo come the end of the month, i would greatly appreciate advice on what to ask for.
estradiol 60.5 pg/mL
testosterone 0.11 ng/mL

ok, i might be stupid so don’t take me as gospel, but your estradiol levels seem shocking high. i’ve heard that taking too much can be counterproductive. your T is properly suppressed though, so maybe you’re just gigafucked. sorry, i’m not the best at this stuff, i’m here for advice myself, but i figured i would give it my best shot

>>
>>35648991
That could be because it's sublingual E, so I'm taking it with a pinch of salt (since injections are more "consistent" and less "spiky").
Thanks for your input regardless. I'm not sure if too much E becomes T again, but damn if that doesn't make sense.

just wondering, when do the major changes usually occur? cause for some reason (not any hard factual reasons, though other than seeing people passing quickly some times)
i have this feeling that a lot of the major changes happen early on like maybe between 6m -> 1yr and that after that its prob just little, but accumulative (like picrel kinda)

is this accurate? or what is it more like in reality?
im wondering cause i sadly havent seen major changes so far and i kinda wonder at what point will i be able to tell like certain things just arent going to happen (like hip fat redistribution)
>>
>>35650518
weight cycle leads to aggregate changes, to an upper limit, otherwise u have to wait a really long time for fat cells to die for stuff to redistribute (so could be why some people don't see changes fast is bcs they stay a stable weight and likely underweight which is a big no-no for looking fem, women have higher body fat %).
The most visible and obvious initial changes are boobs, and the most dramatic growth tends to happen in ypur attached time frame.
A lot of trans people don't pass until a few years in either, and so it's not just body, but hair/slow aggregate changes (like facial fat redistribution)/voice/hair removal that does it.
>>
I'm sorry for the vague and open-ended request, but would anyone be willing to help me learn basically everything I'd need to for DIY? I'm honestly just not very confident in myself to do everything right. Like, I get the general idea of some things, but I'm honestly just kinda stupid. I could talk over discord if it'd be easier, too
>>
>>35650704
ok so a lot is just aggregate, makes sense
but with the dramatic growth... so if i see no hip changes at all (am not skinny) at like 9m in, will i prob not get it then?
>>
>>35650709
Quick Start Guide:

1. Order one of these https://otkph.am/product/transdermal-estradiol/
and one of these https://otkph.am/product/bicalutamide/

2. Take one bica pill per day and use one pump of gel on your thighs in the morning and one pump at night.

That's expensive btw, because gel is expensive. But that's the quick start guide for you.
>>
>>35650988
why gel instread of something like sublingual?
>>
>>35650988
Jeez that is expensive, but if that's the best way to go, I guess I'll cough up the money. Thank you
>>
>>35651003
idk about sub, does it have the same potential for side effects that taking the pills has?
>>
>>35650732
everyone I've met who has weight cycled and been on hrt for a few years has at least a decent amt of fat on their hips
so it's more of a waiting game/marathon than a sprint for a lot of the changes
pio helps for hip fat too

look on Wikipedia, estradiol (medication) page, it has info on T suppression via e lvls in gonadal males (there's also a graph in the detailed guide illustrating this). u can find the papers there too.
T lvls are typical cis f levels from some reference website
e2:e1 ratio is based on a paper that goes into cooperativity of receptors via e1/e2 for the ERs. I don't remember the paper off the top of my head so you'll have to dig, it's in the hrtg archives tho (look up cooperativity)
free e is based on old powers info on what is considered good, it's an old guide, and makes sense it's there

>If so should I be doing 25mg or 50mg a day?
studies on equivalent doses of flutamide suggest 50 mg once 5 days is fine for female hyperandrogenism, might be even lower

serious question, what happens if you inject the estrogen into your vein like heroin?
>>
>>35663522
Having a similar problem. I have nice long hair, but I lifted up my hairline and it looks like I have the beginnings of baldness.
6mg sublingual, 50mg bica. What am I doing wrong?
>>
>>35672637
the whole dose is released instantly so you have very high estrogen levels for a short time.
if the estrogen is in oil, it risks embolism.
>>
>>35672658
>6mg sublingual, 50mg bica. What am I doing wrong?
nothing. female levels of T + 50 mg bicalutamide should block everything. either it isn't androgenetic balding (frontal fibrosing alopecia is similar but rare, here the treatment is probably pioglitazone but the lost hair are dead forever), you have a mutation extremely increasing your sensitivity to androgens (you would already have a completely unrecoverable hairline with previous androgen exposure) or your hairline was already like this.
>>
>>35671812
Okay! I'm honestly not even sure if it's a DHT issue but I've been noticing hair coming out when I do my hair, not sure if I've just started to notice it or if it's a DHT issue

I'll start doing Bica every 2 days and if it seems to be working I'll push it back to every 5 or so days

my question is pretty clearly "how should i go about restarting hrt considering i have been fully transitioned for some years already"

i decided to just hit myself with a good .5ml shot and a couple days later i'm already full-on EDing, skin is stupidly soft and my tits are beginning to ache (not much rightnow) so it seems to be pretty night and day so far
but my question still stands, is this the best route for me?

it does work but your halflife is shit, 2 hours approx. you'll end up needing like 1 shot of 20mg or so every 24h, insane amounts wasted, and your liver would be rightly pissed

the chance is pretty small. there’s some greymarket online pharmas that ship within EU so you don’t have to worry about customs.

>>35677643
Naturalapo (formerly EUAibolit in the OP) ships out of EU and has a good rep

but absolutely thievish prices if they're as high as they were
>>

That’s unfortunately the premium you pay for legitimate prescription drugs if you can’t go through your country’s healthcare system.

If you want it cheaper just order home brew. chance that customs seizes it is pretty small.
>>
>>35677515
parenteral estradiol doesn't increase blood clot risk if you're not severely overdosing (which you don't do with high-dose monotherapy as proved by coagulation factors in prostate cancer patients which are especially vulnerable to blood clots)
in fact, when you remove pregnant women and contraceptive takers (ethinylestradiol has very disproportional estrogenic activity in liver which is responsible for change in coagulation factors), women have lower risk of blood clots than moids. besides, even women vulnerable to blood clots which take ethinylestradiol are protected from blood clots when they take anticoagulants
>>
>>35677958
other sites demand less money
in poland, i can buy electronic prescriptions and the drugs are more affordable (though bicalutamide's price increased 3x lately for no reason). maybe people should check if it's an option in their country

oh btw, pushing the needle after removing it I also noticed I could make it drop 2 more drops, should I be concerned

Estradiol: 160.0 pg/mL - perfectly normal. above 500pg/ml is high. Pregnant women go into 30 000pg/ml
too much E becomes T again - not possible.
>>
>>35646489
T is at good level. Your E must be above 80pg/ml.

i started at 26 which is pretty much the upper limit of what i see on this board. there are a few older but they're statistically not that many.

ffs from an top tier surgeon can make a lot of people look decent, but if you start hrt prepuberty youll probably pass, post puberty its dependant on so many factors. ill never pass so im probably gonna kms eventually.

if testosterone levels were at least in the vicinity of female range (doubtful with oral estrogen and spiro), it's already over for you and you were just basedboymoding
if they were, for prostate cancer patients years on hrt it takes years to stop being eunuchs hormonally

>>
>>35681938
there is a theory (more of an hypothesis by dr powers) that a good E1 to E2 ratio is needed for optimal breast growth,
there is also an even more common theory that starting with a low dose like cis women is optimal
>>

so say you started on EV injections monktherapy at 10mg/week EV dose then tapered that back to 5mg. did I permanently break my breasts?

Please tell me monotherapy is possible with patches. I'm scared to do injections. I've heard patches also give steadier levels.
>>
>>35688955
basically impossible. youd need an obscene number of patches.
also patches and an een injection are both pretty stable. consider orchi if you just wanna use patches (no aa)
>>
>>35689358
I'm too scared to take an injection, but sure, cutting part of my body off will be a piece of cake.
But seriously, I guess I'll just have to go out of my comfort zone for injections. A lot of people do it, it can't be that bad.
>>
>>35689383
sublingual isnt too bad if you but its not a monotherapy either

Few studies have examined the effect of lactation on body fat distribution. In vitro evidence of lactation-induced changes in LPL activity suggest preferential mobilization of body fat from the femoral region (Rebuffeé-Scrive et al. 1985). Björkelund and co-workers (1996) studied the effect of reproductive history on body fat distribution in 1462 Swedish women. Lactation duration did not have an independent effect on long-term waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) or body mass index. Troisi (Troisi et al. 1995) reported a weak inverse association between lactation duration and WHR. We compared regional changes in fat mass in postpartum women for 1 y postpartum using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (unpublished). We did not detect any significant differences in fat mobilized from the trunk, arms or legs in lactating and nonlactating women (Fig. 2).

In conclusion, Robinson’s tenets describing changes in body composition during reproduction and lactation are applicable to lactating women (Robinson 1986). Changes in weight and fat mass in response to the metabolic load imposed by lactation are highly variable among and within diverse human populations. In most reports, rates of weight loss did not differ between lactating and nonlactating women. Despite differences in the hormonal milieu between lactating and nonlactating women, only subtle short-term differences were observed in postpartum changes in body composition. Regional patterns of fat deposition and mobilization did not differ between lactating and nonlactating women in most studies. Gestational weight gain was the strongest determinant of postpartum weight and fat mass change, which supports the premise that biological mechanisms are aimed at restoring prepregnancy body weight and composition.
>>
Fat deposition and mobilization vary topographically throughout the reproductive cycle and lactation period. Although the mechanisms underlying this site specificity are poorly understood, there is evidence of regional differences in lipoprotein lipase (LPL)4 activity and lipolytic responsiveness to norepinephrine during reproduction (Rebuffeć-Scrive et al. 1985). During pregnancy, fat is deposited preferentially at the thigh, and to a lesser extent (in descending order) at the suprailiac, subscapular, costal, biceps and triceps sites (Taggart et al. 1967). High estrogen levels during pregnancy promote a gynoid type of fat distribution (gluteofemoral). Increases in body fat, absolute as well as proportional, are greatest at central sites and least at peripheral sites. During lactation, the pattern is reversed: fat is mobilized from the trunk and thighs (...). Low levels of estrogen may favor partitioning of body fat to the upper body.

Changes in adipose tissue volume (ATV) in 15 Swedish women were measured by magnetic resonance imaging through pregnancy and lactation (...). The women breast-fed for 2–10 mo. In pregnancy, the majority of the fat deposition was localized subcutaneously. Of the total fat deposited, 46% was localized in the lower trunk, 32% in the upper trunk, 16% in the thighs, 1% in the calves, 4% in the upper arms and 1% in the forearms. In the first 6 mo postpartum, the subcutaneous region accounted for the entire reduction in ATV, which decreased from 30.6 to 27.4 L; nonsubcutaneous ATV actually increased. ATV decreased in the lower and upper trunk, as well as the thighs. Fat mobilization from the thighs was the most consistent and complete in all women. Hormonally induced changes in LPL may explain the preferential use of fat at the thigh (Rebuffeé-Scrive et al. 1985), but the thigh was a minor contributor overall. At 12 mo postpartum, the women had 2.1 kg more body fat than before pregnancy, localized primarily on the trunk.
>>
>>35692625
so induce lactation?
>>
>>35692701
did you even read this? this says that during pregnancy women preferentially gain lower body fat and during lactation also preferentially lose it. long-term fat distribution returns to pre-pregnancy state.
>>
