it's a leaked slide from a seminar on "how to use ai chat bots as tools" for quirky law enforcement officers
there was another one floating around about a fake child trafficking victim that communicates in spongebob memes, but i just took this screenshot from a taylor lorenz video, and i can't be arsed to find it rn

I think it's less about catfishing/honeytrapping individuals and more about infiltrating "follower/following" circles to blend in with a crowd. an intelligent person wouldn't be fooled having a persistent conversation with a larping bot, but brief interactions, replies, retweets etc, are pretty easy to pass as a human if you're a fed doing something shady

like when you see footage of a protest with agitators, when there's a 35 year old dude with a buzz cut who obviously works out and may be roiding and he's dressed in a lulzy "fellow kids" undercover cop outfit, you'll obviously spot him if you're actively looking for an undercover cop. but if you're just glancing at a picture of a crowd, thinking about something else, you probably aren't going to notice

agreed, the fact that all the bots are profile-based suggests that they are intended for sites like rddt or youtube, where it's hard to judge bot status just based on posting history. i'm guessing 4chan is mostly thrown in there to give it an air of "political incorrectness".
if anything, i think of posting on 4chan as stress-testing myself against the onslaught of these dead internet bot accounts that will make it impossible to use the internet unless you can pass something of a turing test
