Why do you guys use 4chan? I ask this as a cis bi guy (not a lot of room to shit on you.) but why is 4chan and 4chan lingo accepted among the LGTBQ community? It feels like among cis and straight people they normally accept that 4chan is vile even if you aren’t using it for nerfarious purposes. But among queer people I recognize a pattern in which crazy amounts of queer people use it casually and talk about the struggles of being queer so freely. Like it would be one thing if this site there wasn’t people using racist or hell queer/transphobic langeuge. And yet queer people so casually use it. My favorite queer artist (she has done fat fetish adjacent art and has made me feel seen.) has mentioned 4chan lingo and it dissapointed me like crazy, this shouldn’t be something you are proud about and yet people still will openly talk about it, more then normies. Like, I just wanna hear you out, why talk about queer problems and existence on the homophobia the site.
>>44942011>why talk about queer problems and existence on the homophobia the site.Because it wasnt the homophobia site before the 2016 US election and everywhere else is still worseBesides, i dont give a fuck if people hate me. They already hated me unconditionally before i was born, and i know better than to pursue a policy of appeasement
>>44942011>moral scoldingI wasted enough of my life feeling guilty about saying wrong thing and now i just dont care + I chopped my dick off and have no fear.
>>44942011Its just a fucking message board. Its not inherently homophobic or racist. Stop judging us and fuck off
>>44942011Polarising things and the ability to be comfortable exposing yourself to such things while still remaining solid in your beliefs is a good excersize. I think it's imporant to make sure you do not end up surrounded by people who agree with you, you don't grow without some amount of strife to grow against. When you are here you can get somewhat legitimate opinions from those who disagree with you because they are allowed to exist without being erased from society.Speaking of which, while I consider myself pretty woke n all that, seeing if someone is comfortable looking into things even just a little bit more than dismissive common concensus leads them to be is a huge reassurance.Authoritarianism and out right fascistic behavior can present itself just as easily in left wing circles as it can right. If someone sees you use a word, say, passoid, or whatever, and they don't immediately react with a desire to say "Hey!! That's offensive!!, you can't say that!", they're probably safer than someone who would cut you out of friend groups for that.I know it's homophobia the site, if you're going to help people grow out of homophobic tendencies, you should teach them that queers are cool, not that they're not welcome, otherwise they just make communities without you and get worse.
>>44942049See that’s fair. I never used it before 2016, only used it in 2020. >>44942078See that’s the thing. I can tell it’s mainly white people using this because it’s the same trans white people who care more about homo and transphobia then racism and xenophobia. Like they care more when someone is being phobic twoards them but you ask them anything about someone racist in the community or using bad lingo and they act ignorant, our struggles aren’t the same, and that because they like other queer people it resolves it. Like it’s one thing to grapple with your gender or sexuality but people then act stupid when it comes to grappling with racism.
>>44942112>I can tell it’s mainly white peopleI see more brown trans women on this website than i do on twitter and reddit lol.Anyways, please stop trying to demonize us and generalize us
>>44942011supportive people are so fake why would i want to talk to them
>>44942108I should also bring up that, this place is often the only place accepting of people who truly struggle with horrifically BAD dysphoria. These people should be in therapy, but therapy is inaccessible, and that does not mean they deserve to be alone. Almost all of the vitriol and hate here (at least from trans women) is stemmed from anxiety and self loathing, coupled with the influx of racist people in the past decade, they've learned to adopt the lingo of the only people who really consider them friends. It is __HARD__ to get out of a situation like this, and I'd rather associate with 'problematic people' for the sake of actually maybe helping the most marginalized of us, than ostracize them and feel good about myself for a percieved social benifit
>>44942112You're scolding me about being white?I literally have never typed a slur on the internet in my life. I always argue strongly against all forms of racism, misogyny, transphobia, in all my threads and replies from when I started on /b/ at age 12 to today at age 34.So fuck off bro like wtf is this beta male shit if someone's wrong just explain using facts why, stop trying to tattle and get the authorities involved
>>44942133See I’m not trying to demonize you and generlize you. It’s just white queers on Twitter be defending racism like crazy. I know they don’t speak for all of them but it’s just a sad pattern I notice in white people on Twitter. Like I feel like all white and white passing people can be ignorant but they refuse to ignore it. Also where the proof bruh u could just be a white fucking person behind the screen
