my family members? they aren’t billionaire pedophiles so they won’t be paying increased taxes
>>

Are you sure about that?
Isn't that what NYC said?

this is probably just a ragebait post but I'm going to treat it like it isn't just in case. I'm happy to see the blue wave was real in the end. I voted trump in 2016 because I thought he would buck the system and address questions that were once above speaking on. Instead he took his first win and shat everywhere out of spite, doing shitty things even by neocon standards and then just pretending his hand was forced. 2020 and 2024 were much of the same from him and I'm glad I abandoned that.
I'm skeptical of the dems who were voted in, like Amy Acton, mainly because of the statements and ads speaking of trans people like me in a way that bristles me some, but frankly, that's small compared to the big issues of ending our current conflicts and licking our collective wounds from this most recent series of economic squeezes. I generally don't approve of convincing people not to vote when they normally want to vote, but they needed the wakeup call that not everyone was following dear leader like them and chud fatigue is a real phenomenon that has lasting consequences.
>>
>>45222827
you're either insanely retarded, or sheltered, or you were really young in 2016.
>>
>>45223096
In my defense I was juuuuust hitting 18 and had spent the last four years of school doing basically homeschool. Incidentally that's part of why I didn't consider that my feelings related to myself, my body and my place in life might be dysphoria until I was in my 20s and going homeless. So...yeah. 2016 wasn't a great time for me.
>>
>>45223128
so you’re 28? you should know better
>>
>>45223199
I said I changed my mind right after the 2016 election. What do you want from me.
>>
>>45222421
Great . I have accepted that the western civilization will not stand because of people like you so I just enjoy my days to the best of my ability.

that explains that. we really shouldn't let uneducated teenagers vote for who gets to run the WHOLE FUCKING COUNTRY. but then again those stupid teenagers just become stupid adults because our education system sucks and people can't afford college. oh well.
>>
>>45222421
Lmao I don't really think there are many maga people on this board. You'd have to be really stupid to be lgbt and vote conservative

I was a retard who turned 18 day of election, and thought that voting Trump would "own the libs" for rejecting Burnie. Had hated my body as long as I could remember and had a guilty pleasure of watching crossdressing anime but somehow didn't realize untill right before end of hs. Decided "these feelings will pass lol, and Im too much of a coward to ever want anyone to learn I feel this way"
>>

that would just be insane

I mean I was more libertarian than anything back then but yeah. Now though I definitely am a bit salty that they shafted Bernie who actually espoused some level of left-wing populism just so Slick Willy could try to extend his corrupt empire through his absolutely charisma-less wife. As for those feelings, yeah, I fell for the "it's a fetish, it's a phase, be a man, you'll come out stronger" meme and spent years doing everything I could to be le stoic manly man...only to come out the other side an ugly weathered shelter dog with shelter dog politics and a shelter dog personality. Gonna take a long, LONG time to look...remotely presentable as a woman. But it's looking better these days.
I was also hoodwinked by GG because of the streisand effect and the fact no aGGros would actually talk about the journalistic impropriety at hand when confronting me. I somewhat still blame aGGros for pulling me into trumpism.

I still don't know what the fuck I really believe anymore. I just want to be left alone to inject my estradiol and try to live a real life instead of couch-surfing and car-camping while I struggle through the basics of adulthood. And y'know, I'm partway there, just have to pay some debts off and then start investing and going to college. Even if shaving my face continues to cause me immense emotional damage, I'm getting better at keeping up with skincare and lasering, bit by bit.

Did you really believe eggs cost $7?
Or were you blaming the more recent fuel price spike on Iran, and not the fact that Ukraine has been systematically bombing Russian fuel infrastructure which caused the prices of diesel, heating oil, and other refined oils to soar?
The only benefit to come out of it is that Russia sells crude oil cheaper.
Good thing States in the US haven't been closing down refineries... Oh...

>But... US can drill more oil
Yes... but it still has to be sold at a global rate, so you could live right next to an oil field and refinery, and still only pay marginally less than you would pay for oil from Saudi or Russia (you might save the costs associated with transportation).

EVERYTHING gets affected by the cost of oil, because it is a key element in every supply chain

And where does kidnapping a standing prime minister from Venezuela to stand trial for hypothetical gang crimes he wasn't responsible for, threatening to end the entire muslim world with nukes, and then fucking invading Iran factor into the price of oil, retard?

Similar boat, I was homeschooled for 2 years but It was online so I ended up totally enraptured by the internet. Spent a long time lurking /v/ and watching "rationalist"/atheist tubers(raised super religious) combined with vidya made it so when GG popped off I followed that wave right into anti-sjw and eventually Trump/slopulism. My opinions changed over time but wasn't really till J6 and covid in general that it shattered. Wasn't till right before I turned 25 that I decided enough was enough and that I was going to at least hrt-rep
>>
>>45223516
Even in Queens?
>>45223541
Did that affect the price of oil?
If not, it's irrelevant to the topic.
>>45223543
Quite well overall.
Sure, there was a spike when the Iranians lost control of their 60% enriched Uranium, but that started to die down.

Except when the Dems came out and said that they will be regulating AI a lot more, causing the NASDAQ to drop with many tech companies invested in AI.
The problem is, Socialism NEEDS a growing economy to fund all the benefits.
Pensions and savings are often held in stocks and shares too.
>>
>>
>>45222421
Good. I'm generally favorable on Trump but he's fucked up so much with Iran that he deserves a huge midterm loss.

>>45223543
Taking out Maduro was an unabashed success, so much so Trump got a big head and decided he could "solve" Iran too.
>>
>>45223605
Dems trying to destroy the free market by stopping AI fucking commie luddites at it again no wonder the stock market is falling it would have only keep going up if trump won trump always had good economy.

Oh man yeah 100% nona. My parents were pretty conservative despite mom being a 1970s woodstocker. Born-agains are some of the worst with that stuff...I remember my edgy TJ Kirk phase, brief as that was before graduating to would-be anti-feminist debunking videos. I remember a whole lot of videos from atheists and anti-feminists like Harmful Opinions, Armored Skeptic, Doctor Randomercam, The Bible Reloaded, potholer54, King Crocoduck, etc., and while some of those videos still hold a special place for me, namely Crocoduck's videos talking about the arrogance of creationism (which is what got me to be more outspoken about my doubts about biblical inerrancy growing up), Harmful Opinion's videos about Candid and skeptic shilling, and AronRa's vids about the systematic classification of life.
>Wasn't till right before I turned 25 that I decided enough was enough and that I was going to at least hrt-rep
Well, at least you didn't wait to 28...it's a miracle I escaped joining the 27 club, especially after being homeless, losing all but one relationship, and then finding out that relationship would mean being trapped in the snow with someone who seemed to outright hate me. But at least the worst of my struggles is over and I can build my life from scratch now. I've been on the jab myself for about 4 months, and I've come out to my LGBT managers and coworkers while making irl connections in the local LGBT activist and support-network space. I have an unbearable amount of work to do but I'm at least comfortable poking fun at myself in good fun once in a while.

It's getting better and I think it can for everyone going through similar, truly everyone. I've met trans men who transitioned in their 50s and look incredibly handsome, I've met late-40s trans women who wouldn't look out of place on the runway, and the averages look good overall, despite the outliers that chuddies like to target. I say support the hons 'n show them that things get better with time and work.

This thread's glowing brighter than the fucking sun right now. At this point I think we all know what to do: disengage from the thread topic before the shartyfags take over.

I never said AI was the future.
I despise AI more than you.
However, AI is the present and where all the money is at the moment because fuckwit gooners can't remember which day Christmas falls on and need to artificially remove a woman's clothing using AI tools in order to see boobs.

It's a bubble that's far too delicate to be staking our entire non-oil economy on. We should be diversifying. Like the smart capitalists already do.
>t. best friend has made fucking six figures in 2 years off of the rate hikes and post-covid volatility because he understands that AI is nothing but a pump and dump scheme with nearly zero future

It's a bubble that I have zero interest in personally because, on a human level, it causes more harm than good.
It's still a fact that many people, businesses, and governments have vast amounts of money tied up in it.

On the plus side, Socialists should be happy that, if this continues, there will be a lot less billionaires to rage at and squeeze tax out of through their unrealised capital gains.
>>
>>45223900
I'm not happy to see an entire economy where 90% of the corporate and investing class is frittering away *our* tax dollars and energy and clean water. I'm not happy to see it crash and burn either, but it HAS to happen eventually. I am sick of living under this shit and as the mortgage rates get infinitely better in the coming months I think I'll sleep like a baby.
>>
>>45223579
i dunno probably, also the iran shit was an unmitigated failure
>>
>>45223622
AI was never going to be worth actual money or produce anything of value, it’s just a bunch of billionaires fagging out
