Opinions on this work? I guess I'm already damned.

Napoleon Hill is a fraud
>>
>>23313042
Red Hill me on that.
>>
>>23313042
Yeah, yeah, "con man" blah, blah, blah... talk about the book itself instead of tired old article bulletpoints that you picked up just by googling the author.
>>
>>23313042
He inspired Bad Brains, so there’s some value to him
>>
>>23312687
Without knowing anything about this book, that's a dumb title.
You can't outwit Satan, that's the entire point.
>>
>>23312687
It's blasphemous AND pretentious. There might be one or two interesting or useful thoughts in it, but not worth it. Also, makes me think he was a Mason or something of that nature. Of course you're damned. If you don't serve Christ, you're damned. Most humans are damned.

>>23313857
Satan, the Devil, etc., are mere concepts, or metaphors for natural metaphysical forces for Hill. The book is a dialogue conversation with an imagined version of the Devil which is really only a stage for the display of Hill's own narcissism. Fundamentally, it is anti-Christ, but not in the way of hating Christ, but in the way of leading people down an indirect road to apostasy. All of these dumb sorts of pseudo-spiritual self-""help"" books are just sorcery-lite. Take them seriously enough, that's where they lead.

I was in a substance abuse program in the Army and one of the instructors swore by Think and Grow Rich. Never read it though

Pretentious post. You should take your own advice. I don't know why you old church types are so damn pretentious, but you really are.
>>
>>23312687
Having read it several years ago I'd say it's pretty good.I especially liked his take on forming good habits where the repetitive nature causes them to stick as they become second nature, what he termed "hypnotic rhythm".
>>
>>23313999
And yet, here you are, kek. Self-help is such a meme.
>>
>>23314081
>And yet, here you are
So?
>>
>>23314103
So you didn't successfully form good habits and you're still a loser, obviously.
>>
>>23314110
Periodically posting on an board, in a thread about a book you've read, makes you a failure?
>>
>>23314127
Makes? No. Heavily implies with near 100% accuracy? Yes.
>>
>>23314171
That would also be a sorrowful self-prognosis since you too are here. Eitherway, I hope you outgrow your contentious nature.A devil you should outwit. Good day.
>>
>>23312687
Hill was not only a con but he really was a black magician. He talked to spirits and "secret masters" and "schools".

This guy is telling you who he is just by the title alone.
>>

>It's blasphemous AND pretentious.
How so? It's been a while since I read it but,if I recall correctly,in the dialogue he has with the imaginary devil figure,it outlines how people never reach their full potential because they succumb to comfort by not having rigid routines implemented in their lives but simply "go with the flow" so to speak and become complacent. No mention of God or Jesus from what I remember but it fits because the book isn't really about religion ideology. It simply uses the motif as a unique spin on self-improvement.

>>23314201
felted him. no response lol
>>
>>23312687
never read it but I remember seeing the audio on YouTube, had a bunch of boomers in the comments going
>oh lawdy, lawd save me from the evil devil,
>>
>>23314267
I'm sorry, I don't feel like giving you an explanation. Read your Bible. It's not hard to figure out, so I can reasonably assume you haven't read enough of the Word if you can't figure it out.

>>23314201
>fake sympathy
>victorian lady style condescension
>"GOOD DAY"
Lol, dude. This is hilarious. Near 100% accuracy continues.
>>

Believe it or not, I don't sit around waiting for some random retard's replies.

>I'm sorry, I don't feel like giving you an explanation
Holier than thou admonishing a tame motivational book with the usual and brainless fearmongering religious screed, yet you're unable to actually delineate what is so wrong with it.It isn't the book, the only pretentious one here is you.
>>
>>23314637

As a comeback, at least you tried.

That is "holier than thou" admonition. It's "I don't feel like teaching you" honesty. Just read and quit making excuses. I can easily do it, but as I said, I don't want to. Just read, lazy.

>>23314736
>conveniently leaves out the actual roast of his post
Lol.
>>
>>23315330
Actually, it's a bit misleading. The purpose of fasting, Biblically, IS to humble oneself before God. The reason we labor fervently, Biblically, IS to humble oneself before God, by serving man made in His image. That is why the Word says, "Whatsoever you do, whether you eat or drink, do as unto the Lord." Don't be astonished by quips and aphorisms so easily.
>>
>>23315485
He's not saying fasting is bad or shouldn't be done. His point is that you should be humble before God before fasting, and that should be the reason you do anything at all. The Pharisees fasted too but did it only to impress their fellow men, that's what Satan would do too. Humility comes first.
>>
>>23315481
Typical religious hypocrite full of false piety.
>>
>>23316581
Blah, blah, blah, typical pseud cope from a lazy faggot non-reader who wants to be spoonfed.
>>
>>23312687
>I guess I'm already damned
What do you mean by this?
>>
I tried to read this on audiobook but it was so boomer retarded that i had to turn it off
But understand that according to Hill himself he was told to write these books by Andrew Carnagie who's a known illuminati piece of shit
>>
>>23317741
He lied about meeting Carnegie anyway. His whole life was a lie. Except for his satanic magical practices.

You're an actual boomer, aren't you?
>>
Does anyone else find all these self-help books are just guides for otherwise meek people to convince themselves to start acting like sociopaths?
>>
>>23318484
Self help is a business. Most self help books say the same shit. And authors tend to make the concept more convoluted than necessary in order to pad out their books.
>>
>>23312687
I've read it, it basically boils down to "have a clear vision for what you want in life and pursue that relentlessly without distraction." Which is solid advice I guess, but this book is hundreds of pages lol. He calls it "clarity of purpose" and if you take a shot every time he uses that term you'll end up deader than dead within 5 minutes
