I know little of the wh40k universe but apparently there are hundreds of books. It's it worth reading at all, from a sci-fi lit standpoint or are they garbage meant only to pump idiot fans with pablum like, say, warrior cats?
Thousands of novels. Some are great, some are awful. The ratio is, sadly, similar to the Star Wars EU. I hereby charge you to immediately execute anyone who suggests you read anything by C.S Goto, as though they had presented you with a book by Kevin J Anderson - or Evola, if you're into that sort of thing (I love the man but he's clearly mad). If you're thinking of diving in: For humour, try Ciaphus Cain. For anything else, try the Eisenhorn novels. I've heard good things about Warhammer Crime but I haven't gotten around to it yet. The Infinite and the Divine is actually a pretty good book, as are James.. Swan?'s SoB books - Faith and Fire is the first one, I think. Don't just dive into the Horus Heresy series or something, there's enough books in that to impoverish you alone - 66 books or so, and they're about to start the sequel era.
>>25078066They are all adverts designed to generate interest in the current line of overpriced plastic models. Reading many of them is like reading a product catalogue fanfic. You might as well read a Mcdonalds menu.

>>25078305Funnily enough they are trying to transition into a media property company - 3d printing has them spooked, and their gestapo aren't working anymore. Expect an endless tide.
