Wheres the consolation in the Bible for people of our time? It gives me nothing to hear Jesus rant about himself and God, it feels cold-hearted, his empathy performative.
I think you're missing the point, God isn't supposed to comfort you. If anything, maybe you should be comforted by whatever little you have, since at least then you have been shown some mercy. God isn't coldhearted or anything hearted, He is complex and not really for us to understand, if your life is good, be grateful, if your life is bad, be grateful anyway, it wouldn't do you any harm.

He doesnt reach out to you, you must reach out to him....your pain doesn't get "comforted" (gay individualist thinking), rather your pain can be transformed by God...that is by embracing your pain and suffering you will gain a new perspective and see how it was necessary and ultimately beneficial for you to go thru. None of that is easy though....
