As a result, attempts to enforce quarantines and vaccine mandates met stiff resistance, several state governors faced recall votes and had to back down or lose their seat. If it was some kind of test run for a real bioweapon or power grab by the global elite, then the test didn't go very well. The lock downs ended after a miserable 2 years with people less obedient and compliant to their authority figures than before. Far from conditioning people into passive obedience and accepting the lockdowns as a "new normal" they have (ironically) inoculated them against such passivity, by making them highly skeptical of draconian overreactions to problems of dubious severity. Covid was essentially just a nasty flu bug, comparable to earlier strains like SARS which probably a lot of people here are too young to remember, but there was quite a media foofaraw over SARS back in the 00s (South Park even did an episode lampooning the media's overreaction to it) but the distinction here is that the SARS 'panic' didn't extend to the government shutting down the economy for 2 years. So something was clearly different. I'm just not sure if it was stupidity, or something more sinister.

The number of Covid dead is higher than the average annual number of dead from Flu, but the overly-broad categorization of "covid death" would account for that. As I said, Covid-19 is basically just a really nasty strain of flu. The flu, by the way, is pretty serious for old people. It kills millions of people every year, across the world, most of them old or immune-compromised. The same demographics that most suffered from Covid-19. Almost like they're the same virus, basically.
The only people who are still left in this world and haven't decided to commit suicide are people who actually wanted to live in it and so it's only natural that I encounter happy people
