Why is the Super Gundam so underrated as a design?

Boomers like me remember how cool Super Gundam was in the 80s. But all things fade in time, some completely forgotten, but the good stuff still hangs around in a less popular way then when it first came out, but its still remembered.

It's certainly popular enough to warrent both a high grade and master grade but not enough for a 2.0 or RG. I feel most people just buy it for the complete set over it's aesthetic. Also like other anon said, being attached to Katz and having a rather bad colour scheme for the mk. II along with being introduced relatively late into zeta doesn't do it much favor either. Also also most people don't even know it's forwards compatible with a bunch of other kits too.

It's not given a very stabd-out role. I always thought it looked badass, but then you watch the show and it's like a patch to make the MK II almost serviceable compared to Titans MS.
