What's the approach when painting kits with "skeletal" inner frames? I mean the kind that isn't meant to be displayed in a hangar diorama, but that's really just there for structural support and to do all the movement, where a few parts of it might stick out from underneath the armor when certain joints bend. Can I just top coat it and call it a day? The last time I tried to paint an inner frame with top coat it started scratching in the joint areas.
