The fight in XV against the first Shem Ha god thingy was a good example of teamwork. The gears carved a path so Biki could bullet herself. To keep things short, I'll just say Symphogear is a story that tries to tell things in earnest and wears its heart on its sleeve. But I think a lot of what Symphogear has to say comes through and can't be reduced to entertaining wackiness. Honestly the songs lyrics is probably the best way to see what I mean, there's a lot of (not so) subtext going on with those songs and characters.Basically I think a lot of SG writing is deliberate and aiming to be good. And before GX, it nailed that quite often, whether it's the stuff I mentioned above, or just being exciting and smart in its delivery (which is part of good writing as well sometimes).
