The first episode of Hibiki popped up on my recommended list on YouTube so I decided to watch it again on a whim. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzXp41KroXMGod DAMN it was such a fucking good show before the retool. It really had a completely unique feel and style to the direction and cinematography that is unlike anything else in the franchise. It oozes personality in almost every scene. It actually had good child actors. They filmed in beautiful locations. The designs are incredible and the suits all seem of an extremely high-quality. I could gush on and on.It's truly a travesty that the show got cut down in it's prime and retooled into arguably Inoue's sloppiest slop (which is saying a lot from the man who made Kiva).

Shirakura and Inoue were basically just given the task to continue the show and make it mostly take place in just city areas, which like they did and it wasn't very good. Also doesn't help that the finale of the show was written on the spot as they were about to film it.Honestly just think of the episode where they have the party at the base before the episode where Kyosuke is added as the show's "finale" cause it cuts itself pretty cleanly that way between the two eras.

Internal Toei report says plans for the Gavv and Gotchard collab film has been moved to next year and will be taking the 'After Sentai' approach (The VS film being the post-epilogue story that wraps things up). This way the film doesn't interfere with ongoing story plans and show production doesn't need to pause for movie recording. Gavv's summer film is also planned to start filming sometime early Spring and will celebrate Heisei's 25th in some form.
