>>40994735>not sure why it turned out to be like thatFlippers, lack of stability. Also state controlled economy in this game is superior in every way if you have an alliance or have a long term trade agreement with somebody.

I don't really have the time or autism to play like I used to. But it might be worth making nations just to get conquered so people have stuff to fight for.
>copper at 60kIm killing a bitch and its going to be your fault
So... any strong opinions on military rebalance? Naval seemed rather bad to me. It's obviously meant to be used for carrying capacity, but pegasi are good at fighting.
I might play. Just need to read the guides.
>>40998782It is 5k each now, just ignore cooldude offers whenever you can.
why
why not just invade Ourasia?
>>40999761Is it just the name that drives people to Przewalskia? Does no one just want to be an ass, zigger or sandzigger?
>>40999761There are 5 of them now.>>41000131Can´t invade nations in stasis. >>41000235It seems to be the case. I am still surprised there are no other saddles in game yet. Please do not be afraid to be a sandzigger, I am not going to compete with you.
>>40999348i think game needs more than military rework like raids, recapturing rebelling, later turned rouge nations, war against NRL and SE outside ascension fight idk
>>41000337A way to occupy without conquest. Moving troops and set alignment toward other nations' troops within a nation, while in the field. Something a bit more flexible than just flat enemies and allies without any deeper control than choosing to attack or defend.A besieging system of some sort to conquests would be neat too.
So when the reset happens, those who do not hold strong national biases will feast.
Remove Przewalskians as a starting choice, and introduce them as a reward for some kind of periodic event or massive project.
>>41002195or, crazy idea, just make the other choices more attractive
>>41002195i think people see its description and think long term like hmm industry is good! better try it out for long term benefit
>Government: Democracy>Economy: Free Marketwish me luck guys
>>41002237>>41002229Some sort of selfsustainability and tiered resources would be an idea. Preze could get crap metal, grow potatoes and get potato biofuel. They would then have to interact with players to get that sweet avocado import, high quality steel and actual diesel.Same with the other nations. You could be a stubborn little hermit handling all fronts yourself, but, while not dying, you could never get as strong as you'd be able to without trading and friends and just a prime bullying and raiding target by unknown players.Making power more of an industrial capacity per tick, than something you can somehow accumulate in stores, would be another suggestion. That would make an energy market of power imports and exports, preze could be particularly favoured in power generation over the others, rather than just better factories for vague reasons.Just throwing brainstorms at the wall here.
>>41001347Yes they will feast on nothingburger, bygone alliances will return.

>>41003702build production buildings (it's either apples, oil or copper)if you're a przewalskian, wait until yuou die and start as literally anynation elseread the read the damn guides
>>41003708I think I got it, the recommended guide should start with "choose a country then make farms, oil wells, or copper mines" because that's how you start playing and then explain satisfaction et al. and even then it doesn't explicitly explain how to start. The other guide explains it clearly but it's under the Recommended guide and frontloaded with Things That Can Kill You which the player is not dealing with immediately and the two important pieces of info, "build farms, oil wells, or copper mines" and "[country] is the only source of [resource]" are in separate paragraphs. Why is ">CLOP is a game of trading." not the introductory sentence? It would be the perfect axiom to understand what's happening immediately. Anyway that's my onboarding review. Now, why can't I offer vehicle parts for 180,000 bits when I have 216,400?
Nevermind it's working now for some reason
>>41003830>vehicle parts for 180,000 bitsWhy would you do that?
>>41002195Just add a pop-up notification when trying to start a new nation in Przewalskia that reminds people that they produce no resources and are the hardest nation to play as. Would catch some of those who didn't read the guide first and the hard headed ones would get what they fucking deserve

I actually want to see an Immortal Zigger living on statues alone, extracting copper forever.Gems are for military, malls and precision parts, which are for more military and tungsten extraction.Tungsten is for military and composites, which are for more military and better oil extraction.

OH WHOOPS, I DROPPED MY ZEEB THONG FOR MY SILKY ASS.
If you don't disable your building does it take sat even if it didn't make anything?
>>41007723I think if your building was not able to function because you don't have resources it takes, then it acts as if its disabled, so you get -1sat/disabled building.
>>41007967It defaults to -1 sat?
>>41007975As far as I know, yes, -1sat per every non-working building, evey tick its not working.I think there may be bigger penalty if you have no buildings/all your buildings are disabled, but that happens only if you start out and do not build anything.
>>41007999I see, thank you.
>>41008002Also, I THINK, not sure, that if you for example need 100 apples/tick to run, for example, cider facility, because you have 20 of them, and you only have 99 apples, then it all stops. You do not run a part of those facilities, its all or nothing. You wont use 95 apples to run 19 facilities with 4 apples leftover and -1 sat for 1 facility not working. You will use 0 apples, run 0 facilities, have 99 leftover apples and take -20sat for 20 buildings not working correctly, if I understand this correctly. If you want option 1 to happen, you need to MANUALLY disable a single facility.
>>41008056I believe that's the case, my coffee farms didn't use up my leftover energy and I had to set it to the exact amount. Thank you again.BTW SELLING MACHINERY AND VEHICLE PARTS THAT I DEFINITELY DIDN'T FLIP DON'T LOOK INTO IT. If anyone wants to GIVE CHARITY or perhaps strike a deal THANK YOU :^).

>>41008501Big Bootyful Gems await you in Zebrica.
>>41008618That's very little though, it's after all the massive expenses spent on fast-tracking the entire alliance to ascension and also parting gifts to friends IIRC. It's, like, just over the cost of a single Forbidden Research facility, and most members built a few of those each I think? The problem with hoarding comes with taxes/inflation. To mitigate that you tend to spread your wealth out to alliance members and friends, so I doubt any single user has had much more than maybe 5-10 billion in their nation at any one time, IIRC.Other than ascension, the biggest money sink in the game is armies, and I think the biggest armies raised in the last iteration had a cost of like 20-25 billion or so? That should be a good ballpark for the typical late-game wealth accumulation - but again it ends up being alliance-wide rather than any single preson sitting on tens of billions.
I think the issue with Prz is that the guide call them "hard mode" so people think, wow, I'm an epic gamer, I'll play as the HARD nation! And hard mode also implies you will probably get better rewards down the line as a reward, so it's like, playing the long game, a difficult early game but potentially much more powerful down the line!In reality hard mode is a misnomer: przs are not "hard" to play, they're just in very low demand. "Useless if there's already an active prz" would be a better description.Maybe the guides (or even the game, in a tooltip/warning if a new player selects Prz in the nation dropdown) should say something like:>Przs are a niche nation that does not produce anything natively; having a few active players is crucial in the long-term, but the demand for them scales very slowly so a surplus of Przs becomes practically useless and even dead weight. Thus, unlike the three producer nations that always have some net export and benefit from working together, as a Prz you will instead be directly competing against other Prz nations in a nearly zero-sum game (or alternatively living off of others' charity) - provided there's already a small handful of Przs that are capable of fulfilling the demand. Picking Prz under those circumstances is highly not recommended unless you are already an experienced player and know what to expect."
So many asking for a military calc. Just be me and make your own kek
>>41009375The real bottleneck is playerbase, or, more accurately, the amount of active nations. It would be nice if there was a late-game option of settling new nations, or if nations that have fallen to rebels could be recovered/conquered.
>>41009389I'm glad to see it back, though. I played a long time back and still have a bunch of the shit I made to optimize back then. This is gonna be an interesting next few weeks for me.
>>41009389>nations that have fallen to rebels could be recovered/conqueredThis, that'd give people a lot more things to do and you wouldn't even have to alter that much code (probably).Imagine if at some point they could attack you or you could ally with them and trade, it'd be pretty complicated but I want to believe.

>Imagine using spreadsheets>Imagine making leaps and building point-to-point>Imagine not making forward investments and walking the fine edge of death with unstable growth steps>Imagine not making plans and calcs for the shit on hand and doing comparatively for future, never to think on it again instead of sheets>Imagine keeping anything on mind other than the ROI variance and building target with current taken riskIt's almost as if fags don't want to grow 10 ticks in 1 and singlehandedly crash the market.Nice to see the thread up though. I wanna play on easy mode next, reset when?
>>41009891play burro thenif anyone deserves an easy run, it's youI did the same kind of thing when starting out, intentionally tanking my sat for massive growth, everything planned out and recover from the death spiral at the very last tick. Had multiple people warn me my per tick is heavily unsustainable and offer advice etc, but it was all planned
>>41009891Sheets let you figure out growth steps at perfect precision, and you can have them be as small as you want, with as little margin between death as you want, just less error-prone than trying to do it all in your headDe-risking is also good for alliance management where you can't rely on your every ally being 100% perfectly infailible, on-time and fully active and with as much flawless building autism as you, it's better for everypony to grow safely together than for people to randomly die due to mistakes - this goes quadruple if you want to rely on them for your own build plans, and them being complacent would kill you due to your risk, it's never worth playing that dangerous unless it's literally someone you know IRL or something
>>41009444This. Stick to 3-4 days of supplies at all times to remove human error from equation.
>>41009980Meant to reply to >>41009931
>>41009721Seems like it.
>>41009846Nigga buy from me, then.
>>41009931Playing "that dangerously" was accounting solo, not alliance resources, and if anything, it was the opposite of that in the end tooAlso didn't do sheets, but as far I see it gives a faraway target and maybe the resources needed for that if you put that in, but it doesn't give you a path on how to get there. So if it's safety you seek with it, you do the line two on my post and just jump straight to the target instead of making use of what you haveAnd on that same note>>41009986That's a huge waste of resources one could be investing everywhere else. Even if one wants to play safe, on the start, 12 ticks is more than enough as long you come in daily, and if you'll stay away for longer, just prepare for that, 24 ticks/2 days should account for mostly anything.
>>41010108>as far I see it gives a faraway target and maybe the resources needed for that if you put that inI mean. It gives you a target, any target you set.If you set a faraway target then sure. You can also set a very nearby target: effectively the same thing you might be doing in your head, but validated to be the optimal next step. You can also use spreadsheets to set yourself a faraway target and then manually work your way to it by figuring out the path in your head. It's fine and dandy to always build an extra farm provided you have enough sat, but the calculations to determine whether the basic or the advanced farm is currently optimal to expand quickly get tedious - it's exactly the sort of calculation a spreadsheet automates for you. Or which sat building will be optimal. Things like that.Ultimately though it's a game of trading so what's "optimal" depends on what you can trade... so really spreadsheets are most useful in alliance contexts, where they allow you to coordinate a few (or a dozen) players and balance their resources out. Should you build more oil? No you shouldn't, because you have more production than a fellow sandzigger, so it's more sat-efficient if you stay put and he expands first right now! Now you're equal, should you build more oil? No you shouldn't, because the alliance is short on copper but there's a healthy oil surplus, so the zeebs have priority on expanding! Now they've expanded, should you build more oil? Sure, and should you build more toy and candy shops? No, the alliance is tight on applies, but there's a surplus of coffee nobody really needs, build a few dozen coffee shops! If you're playing solo the calculus is definitely much simpler, as you build as much as you can afford based on the resources you can source. A spreadsheet is still helpful as described at the top of my post, but less utterly essential.>That's a huge waste of resourcesAgain, not in an alliance setting.Should you build more oil? Definitely, we're tight on apples but two burrozil players are also expanding your apple farming, so you'll be covered! They just need to get the copper from our zeebs and we'll have all the apples we'll need.Congrats on your new oil! Oh, the zeebs were asleep, then one didn't log in until the evening, so the burros haven't built yet. You're running at an apple deficit. Oh, one burro has built up but the other is apparently caught up in something and hasn't logged in for two days, so we're still at a small apple deficit. This kind of thing happens absolutely all the time. An alliance cannot function at tick-per-tick accuracy, unless again you're coordinating IRL or something.>as long as you come in dailyThat alone becomes a tall ask as the game draws on for weeks and months. Some people will, but you aren't gonna get a 100% daily login rate for every single one of your trade partners.

>>41010136>Varying target lengthSure I guess, didn't mean that you can only set long term goals, but then at short lengths I just see it as a more cumbersome way to do things since you'd need to keep inputting and updating the upgradesAnd yea, I mostly used the market, deals and alliance being secondary in income, so your point for "optimal" could be it too.>Resouce wasteThat point utterly associates with an alliance wide resouce management, not individual management, so yea if you need to balance everyone, doing it in one's mind alone will never work>Chore and not logging in dailyAnd that's why I added "in the start", as later on you naturally end up with a higher storage here and there, or everywhere if you're building safely. And even then, you usually have the means to manage and keep a bigger resource pool planned or just stockpile to not need to worry. At that point it's not even keeping 36-48 storage, but how much you're willing to spend for "comfort"
Hmmmm. Should I accept the care package and get big, or stay more or less solo...

>>41012713Well, the rebels are getting restless, Anon, and I really don't know what I need to get out of this pickle.I will sit on this and do my best to see how I can overcome this.
okay i actually did have an idea with tht head of mine. u should be able to put things on the resources marketplace automatically like "yeah every tick put up 12 apples at X price"
>>41012718Post a full screenshot of your stockpiles and I'll figure it out for you.
>>41012724Alrighty, thanks Anon.
>>41012744What the fuck, are you still there? I can fix everything.
>>41012765I'm still here, yes.
>>41012769Check deals, you have got a package.
>>41012786Thank you very much, Anon, I appreciate this.
>>41012792You have got 41 rebels, make 41 units of cannon fodder to counter them, make sure it is calvary since you don't have gas for tanks. Renable all sat buildings and use all pies I gave you.
>>41012801they will also need to burn some oil for energy since they're outmake sure no resources per-tick says "NONE"
>>41012806This. Burn oil once.
>>41012744>>41012801Also post a buy order for like 10 gasoline for 1k and I'll fill it, for your existing tanks
>>41012744Any modestly developed nation can fix that easily. If I still had a country I'd send a small pie stockpile and a few guns, and wouldn't even notice the expense. Granted, people aren't going to be as rich these days since there are so few players. The point still stands. Don't hesitate to accept help, strong countries NEED trading partners, and would be happy to fix that to get a reliable copper seller or apple/oil buyer. If you can find the aid, the top priority is to survive the coming war tick. A few cavalry with barding armor can endure pretty easily; unarmed units like rebels kill 1/4 of a unit per war tick before armor is calculated, and if memory serves barding halves damage from cavalry. Check the armor guide since it's been a while, but if I'm right you only need 1 cavalry per 8 rebels. Remember that you'll need 5 apples per cavalry in addition to your regular needs.Don't worry about destroying the rebels for now. You just need to survive. If you CAN give your soldiers weapons it's better since you won't have to deal with them for as long, but they can be there pretty much forever as long as you never run out of soldiers.A quick and dirty way to fix your satisfaction would be to disable 7 copper mines. As long as you're above -100 in loose despotism you're safe, so losing 7 more from disabled buildings but losing 14 less from the mines would get you to -0. Having so few mines turned on hurts, so consider that a very short term fix. You want to get those bars back online as soon as you can find some apples.
>>41012801They only need 11 units to survive this tick. And that's assuming they don't have armor, which is probably a safe assumption now that I think about it for more than a moment. There's going to be basically no copper in the economy, and his stockpiles are 0, so making gear would be hard.
>>41012813Not only this, but make sure to disable enough mech mines temporarily to get your net energy production positive.
>>41012825I forget, do incoming defense units come in before or after attacks?
>>41012813I work too fast, problem got already solved sorry bro.>>41012825I am not in right state of mind for math, I have sent him 10 million bits, 1k apple, 1k oil and 250 pies. This is good enough.
>>41012831Mech mines only cost 1 satisfaction before environmental damage, so turning them off doesn't make a difference to net satisfaction right now.>>41012837I believe that they'll fight on the tick they arrive, but I'm not confident about that.>>41012840Problem solved? Great!
>>41012837No idea.
>>41012831>energyOh. I'm retarded, you're right.
>>41012850Disabling mech mines is to make sure energy net is positive to keep things running, not for sat
>>41012801>>41012812I have taken these two into account and I am figuring out what to spend bits on once I get copper to build buildings, I'm thinking another oil combustion plant for more energy, disabling the toy shop for now and getting a cafe instead for the time being.>>41012813This is a lot of pressure, but goddamn it I will be a distributor of the finest goddamn copper and gems you will feast your eyes upon.In a tick or two, when I've gotten my bearings.

>>41024104Some people have suicided in the past by bringing their sat into the negative thousands, thus spawning a shitload of rebels. I don't remember if you get rebels on a -5000 explosion, but even so some may have fucked up and not gotten -5000 on the first tick.Late game it's also pretty easy to get to negative thousands (e.g. due to a mistake) and survive as long as you don't instaexplode. Rebels are piss easy to beat, as long as you have access to some resources (e.g. due to stockpiles that you had just mismanaged for one tick somehow, or friends or alliance members bailing you out) you can get to like -4000, spawn a zillion rebels, then eat a thousand pies and make a few cavalry to wipe out the rebels and be good as new.
Pone
>>41024278Conquest also has a tendency to generate a lot of rebels. People aren't always around right after their armies land, and it takes a bit of adjusting to make builds work with new governments or empire penalties.

>>41026460Nice bait, I'm not doing prze unless you can provide proof that all 5 existing ones are all dead or afk
>>41026472Here's the machine parts market just to have an idea. Copper and oil are being sold really cheap ( around 2k and 3k ) but only one nation is trying to sell the parts at a not ridiculous price.
>>41026480Vehicle parts is a bit better, but could still improve.
>>41026480>>41026490>marketHave you tried actually talking to people? If all przs are colluding to price-fix, that doesn't mean that there are no parts being manufactured. You're just letting them price-fix.And in the long run there's only so much demand for part manufacturing capacity, and not enough to justify feeding 5(!) przs out of ~20 players. Not unless everyone fractures into exactly 5 different tiny alliances and insists on only sourcing parts domestically.
>>41026423As long as you make a buy order for apples, I won't let you starve.

i will put up 1k machinery next tickknown resellers have been embargoed
>>41026790You need more burros than any other nation. As a rough estimate, an end-game burro can feed around two nations - and they have to feed themselves, so you end up with something like nearly half of all nations needing to be burro. Bit less if you underbuild, more if you wanna max out all your nations. So a single burro is definitely nowhere near enough to feed 2-3 other end-game nations.
>>41026790Given that they seem to use half of their own production, perhaps we will need more Burros in the future.

>>41026923>loanLoan is the right word because you can cash it right back out as drugs
>>41026925But you'd have to pay off the other superpower with oil so they don't nuke you the moment your friend stops being your friend. If it's a loan, you're losing almost all of it to interest.Oil would have to sell for like 2,000 for drug dealing to be profitable as a non-burro.
>>41026902You could try to balance it like that, as long as you keep the sum of the relationships over -50. But remember, you start losing more relationship with one the higher your relationship with the other goes, and you also start gaining less relationship each tick the higher it is. If you slip up on that balance, you easily wind up with enemy forces trying to kill you

>>41028407I never cried about parts prices.
>>41028369I put up some cheaper oil, sell me cheap parts pls
Reset when?
An idea would be that having a standing army (instead of just whipping up a trillion in one day) gives a morale boost to nations.>our brave ponies protect freedom! +50 mood>the mighty [nation name] pony does its duty, for a safer empire +30 moodLikewise, cooking up too big an army in too short a time gives an according debuff. >Our leaders are conscripting the humble pony! Oh the equinity! -200 moodCould be biased so you have more army morale benefits as a free trade nation rather than state controlled.Could even make it so each barrack ups your non-conscripted standing army ceiling, so 10 barracks lets you have a thousand troops, all granting the morale/mood boost, but having only 1 barrack and a thousand troops is treated as having 100 standing armypones and 900 conscripts.I feel this relatively minor (all things considered) change would heavily rework how armies behave and work, since you COULD levy a massive response army to a sudden invasion, but that wouldn't be sustainable, and raising a massive invasion force would be very expensive moodwise if you don't have the barracks to upkeep it. In that way, standing armies, while expensive, would be worth it, since yes, you're turning some amount of resources into army upkeep, but that upkeep is only once every 12h, instead of once every 2h, making it a more efficient, but not infinitely scaling, morale source. There's also the ever constant suggestions of adding alliancewide projects that benefit all who participate and are stupidly expensive, like shared power networks so one nation can go hyperspecialized and literally just make power, for example.
>>41028791One would have to be careful with balancing happiness from standing armies, given that troops take exclusively one item type, there would be the potential for a Saddle to keep its population happy exclusively by feeding oil to tanks, etc. Trade could collapse with that level of self sufficiency.
>>41028760When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east.
>>41028791niceHow about>you can only conscript a certain number of units each tick>each conscripted unit above the limit gives incremental negative sat hitThat would limit the number of troops you can pull out of your hat, unless you want to pay for mercs, and would incentivise stedy army building.Maybe also limit the number of SE/NLR mercs avileable for hiring each tick behind relations with those superpowers.
>>41028791I really don't think armies are the problem. The biggest problems are the tendency for the market to collapse, and the difficulty new players have in balancing their nation, so we end up with a ton of very small nations who end up not being able to afford the rising cost of goods driven by the larger nations' growing needs not being supplied fully by the smaller nations.
Buying copper 10K.The muses call to my citizens, they require art supplies.
So I need to ask, is this game based on something with a pony coat of paint or is this a completely original thing?
>>41029840Its a pony reskin of a game called BLOC.
Is there any point in going over the enviromental limit on mechanized mines ? They seem to give a much bigger penalty in the long run compared to the normal mines according to that enviro loss chart.
>>41030122Yes. The environmental limit is a soft cap designed to slow your growth, not stop it. you still have plenty of growing to do.
Cattleonia was the best nation name. What a shame
>>41030122Environmental damage is tracked by building type, so 100 of each is much less damage than 200 mech or basic.
>nobody's selling vehicle partsree

If anyone wants some apples or coffee, just make a buy order.
>another North Prze
>>41035774Best I can do is constant rebellions.
really regretting my Przewalskia pick right now
>>41036912It's not that hard to intentionally die and then remake a new nationJust get yourself to -50 sat (use the burn oil action), next tick rebels will spawn, next wartick since you have zero defense even a single rebel will kill your natinOr if you have enough oil you can even get yourself to -5000 sat and die next tick without having to wait for a wartick, though at this stage in the game that's probably a bit costlyThen just make a new nation and pick whatever region you want
>>41036341People wanna be pollacks, but they don't wanna eat.
>bump limitIt's really happening.
So what the fuck do us Burros do?Nopony is buying apples, is our fate to become coffee exporting subject nations?
>>41037928I'm literally buying a fuckton of apples. What are you on about? Also yes, make more coffee. Coffee is important.
>>41037928We're still running a slight apple deficit. Although most of that is from the DNA binging.
Testserv still dead, I see.
>>41038027>Although most of that is from the DNA binging.Yuuup. But this my alliance problem, we are the ones paying for its upkeep.
>>41038027just 121 apples/tick out of 383, so only about 1/3 of apple deficit is due to DNA production
busy busy busy busy busy.
>>41038253You only are counting the production of the dna, not the multiple toy and candy shops needed to support them.
How do you people build both solar and lunar enviro centers ? I thought you couldnt get a high relation with one superpower without the other getting pissed off.
>>41038551yes, because sat penalty from potentially running more than one DNA fac. can be countered with a variety of sat buildings that take various amounts of apples, so including those into calculations muddle the numbers something fierce.
