Here's something I think could make for an interesting world for a fanfic. In this world, Equestria used to be legally egalitarian with equal rights for stallions and mares. The culture was still patriarchal due to the natural sex differences, but they still had equal rights. But then ponies mastered the ability to perform a spell which changes the sex of any pony who uses it. I'm not talking about the fake transgender crap in our world, I'm talking a spell which actually changes the chromosomes and all the body features and switches who the pony is attracted to keep the pony straight even as the opposite sex.With this development, the mostly male government realizes that they could start enforcing a strict patriarchy with minimal resistance, since any mare upset about it could just switch to being a stallion. So the government implements this, making it so that mares can no longer vote, hold office (with the exception of the princesses), own land (unless it's an inheritance), or open bank accounts. The princesses sign off on this, they and most other mares see it as fair since stallions are more dominant anyways, and any mare who wants power can easily use the sex change potion. So mares become 2nd class citizens.Let's do some worldbuilding. How much resistance does the loss of mare rights get? What percentage of mares end up actually using the sex change potion? Would any of the mane 6 make the switch? How strongly does this affect the culture?

So just own up to it and call it a fetish setting that doesn't need to make sense instead of trying to pretend that your retardation is 'realistic', because that's the part that makes it actually retarded.
