Why did this board's taste get so much worse over the last ten years?
the tranny-chud war
Everything has gotten worse over the past ten years and I'M SICK OF IT.
>>121545914Poptimism.
>>121545914Music ended and zoomers worship blacks
>>121546019>>121546224>>121546266you guys are retard culture warriors. the internet has been gradually centralizing towards the few big social media sites for the last decade and as forus and imageboards get lose users the people who are actually interested in having substantive discussions, finding new stuff, sharing discoveries, etc. move to other platforms because these ones are getting less viable. that just leaves neets with nothing better to do, fandom cultists, /pol/tards, tourists, etc. if you had good taste why would you come on here now? you aren't going to get anything out of it or have any good discussions
>>121546608You smoked too much weed and are now retarded
>finding new stuff, sharing discoveries
.
>>121547411>whining about generalskys my man
>>121547474Not generals, just that one specifically. It does not belong on /mu/, it belongs on /s/
>>121546608>the people who are actually interested in having substantive discussions, finding new stuff, sharing discoveries, etc. move to other platformsSuch as?
>>121547509Relentlessly spamming gore pics into the kslop threads would fix that problem inside of a week.
>>121545914>Why did this board's taste get so much worse over the last ten years?it didn't, you just got older, OPwith every passing minute your beliefs become more entrenched and you grow more stubbornface it, you're a fossil waiting to be crushed by the passage of time
>>121547690No, it wouldn't because Kpop is almost entirely bot spam.
when they memed people into thinking The Final Cut was Pink Floyd's actual best album.
>>121546624i'm assuming you're the guy who said it's because zoomers worship blacks>>121547525anecdotally i'm on twitter and there are dozens of people in my circle who are /mu/ veterans who quit because there's nothing of value here anymore. i know a lot of /mu/ vets on rym too but that's not really a social platform>>121546635rope now!
>>121547763this is true, but the jannies allow it.
>>121545914>Why did this board's taste get so much worse over the last ten years?
>>121545914brainrot from social media, people cant even form their own music taste because of it
>>121547991I just let Fantano, Christgau, and Scaruffi tell me what's good. If it's been highly rated by at least one of them, then I consider it listenable.
>>121547763Let's do it anyway.
>>121547729No, it objectively did. Simply put /mu/ had way more actual discussion of music. Doesn't matter which genre you pick: pop, folk, metal, jazz, hip hop, techno, house, samba, new wave, whatever. The fact stands that you just never see people posting about any deep cuts anymore here. It seems zoomers have only surface level knowledge of music.
>>121545914poltroon cancer
>>121547763You might be right because /mu/ is a slow board, but how do you know?
>>121548895bleep threads happen once a week now and 404 after 20 replies, it's so sad. used to be hitting post limit twice a day
>>121548921Exactly. It's not even about taste in the sense "he likes the same album I do." It's simply put the variation in taste is drastically reduced. There used to be sharethreads with obscure blogpost mediafire and megaupload links: cumbia tapes, chopped and screwed tapes, underground black metal, IDM, classical, gamelan, Japanese noise music. I literally never see this shit anymore
>>121549036i haven't seen a sharethread at all in a few days at least. i have to wonder where those old anons went, i don't really see them anywhere else online either besides occasionally on twitter. maybe they just grew up and got offline
>>121549036I made one a week or so ago. It died pathetically. I don't think people download music anymore.
>>121549066>>121549076I understand that sharethreads wouldn't really be a thing since people don't really download music anymore in the age of streaming. That said, there could still be sharethreads where people just post links to albums. It seems there is absolutely 0 culture of exploring genres or digging deep. It's the most surface level stuff possible. The simple fact is a lot of underground stuff sucks, but there are gems in the rough, and that is the merit of digging. I think when music nerds give up on digging deep and just accept whatever slop drivel is promoted in the media, a lot of great art just gets permanently lost
>>121549104it's the incuriosity that really bothers me. nobody wants to listen to or hear about an album they don't already know anymore, it's just strange. theoretically these are people who are into music too! maybe a youtube sharethread could work?
>>121545914Trumpfags. Boomers. Zoomtards.
>>121545914modern music appeals to the lowest common denominator. the most simple and easy to understand music will have the most fans. This board has great tastes actually, you just have to ignore the goyim. Its easier than it sounds.

>>121549584yeah because listening to sheboons chant about their asses is the PEAK of art. no you are the problem you little nigger
