It's just OK bm. It's only mentioned so much cause of the cover, and that's, in itself, pretty pathetic. Calling it one of the best albums ever made only shows you haven't listened to many albums at all, let alone much bm.

>>121550731I like this album, but only for the story it illustrates. It is the thoughts of a party-sympathizing german soldier during the final days of the reich, culminating with his death in Berlin during the fall. The cyclical imagery of the sun and the fanisk (Phoenix) represents the idea of rebirth and the eternal struggle of life and consciousness, oftentimes superseding direct Naziism ideology entirely and speaking to something far more primordial and pervasive. It feels more Nietszchean than Nazi, honestly. It's just okay third-wave American Black Metal though, sonically speaking. Leans way too hard into the shitty casiocore that Varg poisoned all blackened music genres with.
