Oh nice I’ve been digging this album lately. Vocalist sounds nothing like Creed.

did not read what was in the OP. but I saw YPAA and here I am.
Little Dipper is one of the best songs of the 90s
I wish the album expanded more on the scifi lore that Little Dipper established, but I still like it nonetheless
but, think about the possibilities tho
>If we both stand with paths on high
>And sink without the oceans, watch 'em dry
>We can see far to the other side
>It's you and I forever, we don't have to hide
this verse kind of paints it as if the protagonist and his lover are in a desolate planet, but the rest of the song indicates that they are advanced enough for intergalactic space travel, so you already have some "utpoia, but not really" scifi thriller theme going
>If we ignore the signals that mission control will send
>It's one big ship ride anyway, this hell will never end
>We gaze out on what they left of the stars
>All we see now, we can take as ours
here, they are running away from their homeworld, and it was never clarified why. maybe they were outlaws? or they are critical pieces of the government-like system who happened to stumble upon a dark secret? i think if the album had songs that lightly touched on these plot points, then this would be a classic on another level.
>You two've got just moments left to give
>Come back now and we will let you live
>Stay inside our blue protective eye
>We won't let them take you, we won't let you die
the chorus makes clear what it is really about. two lovers breaking free from whatever is holding them down and exploring the vast expanse of space
My baby spins propellants, my systems set to blow
>She's at the milky way now, spelling into snow
>And she's constructed flash points to cover up the sun
>I sleep under glass, I know that she will wake me when she's done
this verse is what gets me. it establishes the kind of love and trust the two lovers have for each other. matt did such a good job writing an opening scene, and I wish they followed this plot for the rest of the album as this sci-fi epic.

The first two Creed albums have way more reverb than this one.

I wouldn't say Creed specifically, but definitely some other buttrock bands apply.
