Also, I'm currently making the designs for a large subwoofer with an expandable/retractable tube (very similar to a tunable diapason pipe in a pipe organ) specifically so I can tune the subwoofer to the room resonance of whatever room I'm in (in large rooms this will be well below the range of human hearing) and with proper power I *should* be able to excite the modes enough to make confetti levitate in the air without harming anyone's hear.

>>
>>121808536
Most people say no. Maybe its a matter of preference and even more so the quality of the guitar. Top hollowbodies are very expensive.
That said, like Anon already mentioned, Joe Pass recorded (at least some of?) his Virtuoso album with an unplugged hollowbody electric.
Also guys like Frank Vignola, Jimmy Bruno, Martin Taylor have recently played with some kind of hybrid sound - they've used guitars that have both, a pickup and a microphone.

The type of music I like makes my guitar playing look terrible and inadequate. I could fake my way through a pop gig, but whenever I try to play the music I like, it's so difficult I get discouraged and give up. Should I go back to easier stuff or force my way through the harder songs?

penis size is highly relevant to guitar.

This is how I know you’re retarded. The tops for the Gibson archtops and semihollow as are made from laminated wood, not plywood. Laminated is much more sturdy and resistant to weathering and temp changes. They use laminated on their tops nowadays not because of cost savings, but because it helps reduce feedback of the guitar to a more manageable level. This is especially important for semi hollows since people generally will use overdrives with them. If overdrive and signal breakup at loud volumes was not a thing, then it would make sense to keep using muh tonewood

Not him, but it depends on what type of music your band is playing. If you are playing jazz or boomer blues, you will not need more than 20-30 watts. If you are playing any sub genre of metal, punk, emo, then it’s way better to have a 2x12” 50-100w amp. That type of music sounds better with the larger amount of low end bass response that fills up a room when you crank on a boost or overdrive pedal. A 10-30w 1x12” amp is not going to be able to provide an authoritative low end
>>
How do i re-thread one of the strap buttons on my guitar?
On most of my guitars i've usually taken out the screws and put the strap between the body itself and the strap button, to act as a makeshift strap lock of sorts
the problem on my bass is that unscrewing one of them seemed to strip the thread entirely, and so the screw tends to work itself out of the body over time

Was it an aggressive sub genre? If so, and if you guys are actually good, then it would certainly sound even better with a 2x12” 50-100w. Part of the experience of metal/emo/punk shows is feeling the energy output of loud amps. If you gig with that powerful of an amp and are not that great of a player, then you will sound awful. Because of this, you end up getting a huge population of artists that are shit and some that are good, but never really any that reach the required threshold of being top tier. Kinda sucks, but at the same time the general area surrounding Portland is one of the best places in the US, and I’ve lived all over the place

1. Minimize movements. there should be no crazy extra movements and you should keep your fingers as close to the fret board as possible.

2. Flow. Motions should be made into one another unless looking for a deliberate staccato effect, every change should prepare for the next change as well.

3. Relax, if you have to flex or strain at all you are at capacity and will not be able to maintain that position for long, on the other hand it is good to push at least once a day to break out of the comfort zone, what used to be fast will become slow and effortless given enough practice.

4. Recover. Give your fingers a couple day break after long sessions, if you notice yourself going for shortcuts a lot or your vibrato is suffering you need a break, the tendons in the forearm and fingers need longer than muscles do to heal, it is not a quick process.

Do what the Frusciante (greatest guitarist of all time) did before he joined RHCP:
Transcribe Steve Vai licks by ear for 12+ hours a day. Consume nothing but coffee and cigarettes.
Of course you will never play as amazing as Froosh (nobody ever will) but it WILL improve your speed. Good luck!.

Mayer is a soulless, run-of-the-mill contemporary blues shredder
Frusciante is the greatest and one of the most influential (if not the most influential) guitarists of the past 30 years. His extensive knowledge of theory and tasteful playing makes for a combo that few can match.
No other guitarist in the past 30 years has made as many great riffs and compositions as Frusciante.
Frusciante carried Guitar as an instrument on his shoulders throughout the late 90s and early 2000s when everyone else made shitty riffless and solo-less pop punk and nu metal.

The MIJ ones that aren’t 1980s production are actually basswood with either a rosewood looking finish or a thin slab of rosewood on the body and the necks are really ugly painted black on the rear side. I was looking at that specific guitar a few days ago but researching these more recent MIJ “rosewood” Teles (TL-ROSE iirc) they’re not true rosewood and it feels weird spending $2k when any other MIJ Tele with be like 2/3 of the cost, plus if I’m spending $2k on a fake why not spend and extra thousand on either a true rosewood 1980s MIJ or one of the George Harrison or custom shop ones?

I want to find some genuine reviews on the chambered body rosewood Teles but it’s really hard because every single review is “it’s expensive therefor it’s good/it’s expensive so therefor I’m obliged to convince myself it’s good”. The chambered body rosewood ones aren’t as shrilly bright but still are brighter than normal and apparently the controls are much more touchy and they have a wider range of tones because they’re so bright. I want one because I love how it looks but I’m afraid to spend big bucks on one only for it to sound like ass. It’s not going to sound nearly as bad as the original solid body ones but without hearing one in person I’m afraid to know what it’ll sound like after I pay for one.
My goof off at home amp is a reissue 65 Princeton Reverb and when I want to be loud I’ve got my dads old Marshal head with two 2x12 cabs
