The greatest guitarist of all time (PIC REL) will be releasing his signature Strat soon, possibly this year

John Frusciante can easily learn /prog/ songs in less than 24 hours. One of the many reasons he is the greatest guitarist of all time, objectively.
>Could you tell us a random good memory you have working with John?
>Dave Lee: "I'm glad you asked, Ivan. There's a story I remembered the other day. I've told Pedro I was going send it to him, so here it is. I grew up in the late 70's and was a huge fan of the band "Yes". At some point I came to know John was a fan as well. We discussed Yes occasionally, and while on a trip to Japan, John and I had discussed their album "Close to the Edge" and I had said how that album really meant a lot to me growing up. Particularly the song "Siberian Khatru".
>Upon arrival in Tokyo, we had a day off to recover from jet lag. The next day at the venue, when the band showed up, I was notified that John was looking for me. My first thought was "Uh-oh. What did I do this time?" Well, he found me, and said he wanted me to follow him to the dressing room because he wanted to show me something.
>He sits me down next to the little CD player in the dressing room and plugs his red Jaguar into the practice amp. He then takes out Yes' "Close to the Edge" CD and puts it in. Next he cue's up Siberian Khatru, and proceeds to play along note for note EXACTLY to the song. I mean exactly. Every single part of the 9 minute long epic. And if there was a part with no guitar, he'd play the keyboard parts on his guitar. He just sat there on the floor ripping perfectly through this very intricate song with a huge smile on his face. He even played the guitar fade out solo ending, all the way till it fades completely out.
>And then I realized he wasn't smiling because he was "proud" or "showing off". He was smiling because he knew how much it meant to me. It was like a personal little gift, that he'd spent his whole day off preparing. And it did mean alot to me. ...still does."

Imagine trying to play this riff while singing vocals on top of it.

Having owned basically every mainstream high end amp on the market i can confidently say that boomers are right about Marshalls, there really is nothing else that does the toob amp thing like they do
Mesas are cool but theyre finicky to dial in, supros are kinda crap, PRS are mush, magnatone are waaaay overpriced, fenders are simply channel 1 on a Mesa
but a Marshall is a Marshall, roll back the volume knob on your guitar and it cleans up beautifully, roll up the volume knob and it roars, and best of all the whole amp is basically a sweet spot

From thick, full-bodied cleans to the iconic overdrive that would later marshal up another iconic amplifier builder across the pond, the Tone Master ’59 Bassman puts the legendary tone of the inimitable Tweed Bassman in your hands.

It just feels better playing with a clean fretboard and fresh strings. I've done both, and used to let that finger gunk shit build up on the fretboard. I was just a suck guitar player back then in hindsight.

Ibanez makes great guitars, but Vai and Satriani are hacks. They wish they were Malmsteen in terms of playing and composing ability, and Malmsteen plays a strat.
Paul Gilbert is a nonce nobody and shouldn't be named alongside any actual notable guitarists. Racer X was a shit band, he never took off outside of California, and has never put out content of any quality. I'm honestly perplexed anyone even talks about Gilbert when the topic of shredders come up. Is he paying them?

I have a squier jazzmaster and a warmouth jazzmaster copy of my own design (it just has series/phase switching and a maple fingerboard). I bought this lp four years ago. When it arrived in the mail the headstock was snapped and I'm only now getting around to repairing it. It's a body blank so I still need to get some of the parts too (pickups and pots).
I generally prefer fender style guitars but idk I guess I want to larp as joey Santiago or something

Unless it's a synchronized vibrato I don't like it personally.
>>
>>122607210
But it is? The ibanez is similar to floyd rose, both edge and lo pro edge, in addition to that there is locking nut too
Pretty much the best and most stable trem you can get nowadays
>>
>>122607245
No the only synchronized vibratos I'm aware of are the jazzmaster vibrato, the mustang, and the goldo jazzmaster replacement. I just like their action and leverages/angle.
>>
>>122607268
stratocaster and floyd rose and kahler are all synchronized trems
>>
synchronized trem means it moves the bridge
bigbsy is the only popular trem i can think of that isn't a synchronized trem
>>
post iconic Telecaster enjoyers
>>
>>122607282
Okay whatever it's called when the bridge moves back and forth with the whammy bar and there's only like two steps on range that you can only move through slowly because of the angle and leverages. Whatever you call that is the vibrato I like, not the Floyds or strats or brigsbys.
>>
>>122607321
Leo Fender's "synchronized tremolo" is literally the Strat Trem though for what it's worth. and Floyd Rose is literally just a strat trem that locks down the string at the bridge and nut
I enjoy the jazzmaster trem as well but it has a lot of fundamental flaws, at least in the original design, which is largely why Leo abandoned the concept and never built another guitar with that style in his post Fender days

you can do the same thing with a strat trem, don't listen to reddit articles saying that you have to have a jazzmaster to hold the arm while strumming
strat trem allows you to also just put your palm on it while picking for shimmer sounds (if you have it set up properly)
>>
>>122607359
Yeah I either go hardtail or go with JM trem. I recognize the flaws in the design but it's the only one I like.

I've tried setting it up properly. My best friend (who is for the record a much better guitarist) has been trying for years to get me into Floyds and strat trems. I had a strat copy for a while and while I can do that I want for the most part I just don't like the feel. Even mustang trems aren't exactly the right feel.
I've literally never been on reddit.
>>
I did have a VMJM that I set up according to offsetguitars jazzmaster trem bible
had to shim the neck, loctite in saddles, had to flip two screws on trem plate
and it functioned perfectly and it was a 300 dollar squier
unfortunately the overcomplicated wiring messed up, I deleted rhythm circuit and converted to 3 way with master vol tone only, but eventually I had a use for the neck so now I just have a candy apple red jazzmaster body and pickups gathering dust for about 6 years now

Yes but youtubers dont tell you WHY do you play those chords and HOW.
There are many options to play the same chord, it also matters a lot how you strum, where you put your finger.
Its not obvious. If I tell you how to play chords in tornado of souls you still wont be able to play shit

This is a hill I will die on.
10s on acoustics are god tier, you can do electric guitar bends and shredwork just as if it were one but with all the benefits of acoustics.
Sure, you could just not have baby fingers and get those 14 gauges like a good goy but why make it harder, not to mention, you can't bend those as much.

>inb4 MUH TOAN!!! ONLY 15/69 gauges can sound loud enough for me reeeee
mic it up then you fucking dicktwat
