I had this romantic daydream of taking a train ride somewhere and just enjoying the view and exploring a new placeYesterday I actually did it, I took a 2 hour train ride to a random city near me and it was disappointingThe train ride was boring and had no scenery besides trees and houses, and the actual city was the same as anywhereI normally use trains to get around but using trains for fun was just ass
You need to have something to do in the other city
>>2049989I used to take joyrides out of NYC on Metro North, New Jersey Transit and the LIRR to great destinations within a couple of hours—hiking trails, historic towns, a trolley museum, an old railroad bridge over the Hudson, an abandoned mental hospital, and lots of cool railroad infrastructure, hobo camps by the tracks, wild graffiti, some of the best scenery in the northeast. Your region must be dullsville, man.
>>2050004HEY I'M RIDING THE RAILS HERE
i only do this in holiday like italy or spaintook the train to monaco along the ligurian and provence coast, and from castalnuovo di garfagnana to luccaand took the tram from benidorm to deniaall three were very scenic routeswould NEVER take a train here in holland, those are just for commuters
>>2050258Yeah but what is there even to see in holland except marihuana bars and brothels
Sucks how they put up those anti-noise barriers, which blocks out most of the view. It looks worse IRL
>>2053344same stuff there is to see in all countries, just a bit different
